I can't really comment on regards to staying up. It's certainly not a classic by any means. I would plump for mainly rain with some embedded convection. Kent shows some very slight interest during the early hours, though.
PWAT cross section showing high levels on the charts, so I would've thought that torrential rain would be more of a hazard.
Okay ill word it a bit more logical, Do you think the storm will have frequent lightning or no? Just i dont want to do what happened last time where i stayed up all night and fell asleep at 7am as soon as the storm arrived...

Maybe when the sun rises the storms will strengthen in time

I dunno this doesn’t look or feel like a developing storm system anymore to me
I'm keeping my eyes on the line of red and white that's about to make landfall

The landfall does seem to be a tad anticlimactic at the present time
It's red on my radar meaning rapidly developing, still has potential

Welp I can confirm arrival in Essex. I thought it was just rain before I heard what sounded like an explosion out of nowhere that nearly sent me through the roof
There is an isolated thunderstorm in Essex I think

Thunder still sounding distant and following lightning by between 10 and 20 secs
Rain is picking up here, got a feeling this line of a cell is going to hit Hard
-
Very active now, rapid development from what I can see
-
I can hear the rumbles all the way from broadstairs

It’s taking a long time but we’re getting there.
Quite infrequent IC lightning to be fair, but let’s see how these land-based cells pick up
Have you seen the cell just infront of Hastings, an amazing structure and fluctuation of pulses of lightning, potential to be a super cell?
-
Started to rain here, the odd rumble of faint thunder in the distance, I'm excited!
-
a huge cell is forming! Heading straight towards Kent!
