  1. Tide is turning now, and if this is lowtide! It's gonna be well over the road at hightide!
  2. The new recon plane that's gone out is about to enter the NE eyewall. https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/recon/
  3. Look at the size of that Eye! That's got to be well over 30 miles o_O
  4. https://livestormchasing.com/map *Live Storm Chasing, not media, sorry. Watching Brad Arnold atm, he has sound on and you can hear him occasionally talking to the other chasers. He's heading out of the main area to Port Arthur along with a bunch of other chasers.
  5. Watching Live storm media and you know it's bad when all the Stormchasers are moving AWAY from the main impact area...
  6. Water level stations in New Orleans are already into the 'minor flooding' highlighted zone and are getting close to the 'moderate flooding' zone
  7. Throws tide gauge/water level monitoring site at you all https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/inundationdb/storm/Laura.html Despite the fact that the tide is going out, many stations are showing 2feet above what it should be and rising.
  8. Ahhh, not for me then, as I don't do Stalkerbook. I'll stick with hunting down webcams
  9. You got any links, I know Reed Timmer had a website, but that seems to have vanished and a quick search for Michael just brings up info on the Olympic swimmer.
  10. Looks like it might have just started an ERC as the eye appears to be closing again on the last few Sat images and a gap has formed on the Eastern side. https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/sat/satlooper.php?region=13L&product=ir EDIT 110knot flag marker thingies on the aircraft recon charts (about 127mph!) and 964mb in the eye
  11. Found a couple of webcams that might be interesting to watch. These are in Port Charles a few miles East of the Texas/Louisiana border. https://www.cruisin.me/cruise-port-webcams/united-states/lake-charles-louisiana/ https://www.kplctv.com/weather/cams/ Click on the static images to bring up the streaming webcams. This is in Beaumont Texas, a few miles West of the border. https://fox4beaumont.com/weather/cameras/bec-station
  12. Whelp, internet's going up and down, along with the power wind's really picked up, some good 30+mph gusts (some lasting well over 30secs long). That combined with the rain is making it look like I'm in a drive through car wash
  13. The Flag at Llandudno has gone!! http://www.westshorebeachcafe.com/webcam-in-llandudno/ May it rest in pieces
  14. Ford Green Brook (in the Fields below where I live) has gotten a flood alert on it. Hopefully it won't be as bad as it shows on the map, or Ford Green Halls going to be underwater again. https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/target-area/033WAF309
  15. Lowest Pressure I've found so far is 979.83 mBar from a buoy in the Irish Sea. http://vis.marine.ie/dashboards/#/dashboards/weather?buoy=M2&measurement=SeaTemperature EDIT: I'll be very surprised if the Flag on the Llandudno webcam survives Maybe we should give it a name like the Frying Pan Tower one http://www.westshorebeachcafe.com/webcam-in-llandudno/
  16. Let's all give an 'F' for the guy in the bottom right, he was standing pointing his camera at the lighthouse for a good 5 mins waiting, and when nothing happened he put his camera in his pocket as he turned away... EDIT, just had fun watching a wood pigeon flapping as fast as it could but slowly flying backwards Think it's getting a tad windy outside now.
  17. Some amazing Waves at Porthcawl atm, the pillar of spray in the first image has to be about 70 foot tall (the Lighthouse at the end is 30 foot). second one looks like a Hokusai print xD
  18. Beginning to hear that deep bass sound coming down from the sky now. Wind must be screaming by up there. Had the house creek a couple times too. Also t'was Bin day today here, and there's alot of people who still haven't taken them off the pavement and back into their gardens yet. I have a feeling I'm going to be seeing some going for a 'walk' soon.
  19. Same here, drizzle and a slight breeze not really gusting yet either. We were supposed to be having 30+mph gusts by now, in reality they are barely getting upto 15mph on the rare occasion that they do happen.
  20. Oh wow! that's actually really interesting because those really high peaks (the ones on or above the high black line) match up with the ridiculously low solar minimums (one of which we are in right now ) I wonder if it's because the atmosphere becomes more 'dense' as it were, as it shrinks down so it's easier for water droplets to form? Kind of like slightly squeezing a sponge full of water...
  21. Talk about a 'Bolt from the Blue' or should that be a 'Positive Bolt from the Blue'
  22. Weather warning from Met Office for basically the entirety of the UK south of Manchester on Tuesday and Wednesday. Gusts of up to 50mph+, 60mph+ in exposed/costal areas. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2020-08-25&id=11b08d93-9a9f-42d5-ab25-62f4a79c0e92&details Guessing it's for this thing, look how almost perfectly circular those isobars are, almost looks like a hurricane like that
  23. Getting some good 35mph+ gusts now occasionally making the house move and creek. Seems to drop off to almost nothing under the patches of drizzle, but then picks up instantly once they've passed over.
  24. Ahh my Favourite cam to watch during a windstorm, Low tide now so waves aren't getting high up, but go back about 5 hours and they were crashing over the pier and the small lighthouse at the end Also BigjetTV is currently streaming live from Heathrow, lots of Wobbly landings and take-offs and plenty of Go-arounds.
