  1. We made it on the News Snow in Stoke-on-Trent causes problems for drivers WWW.BBC.CO.UK People in Staffordshire are urged to only drive if their journeys are essential.
  2. Temps dropping rapidly here again now, had slowly risen to a barmy 2C, but has dropped back down to 1C in the last 30 mins or so, cloud covers also rapidly thickening up, getting quite dark outside
  3. Good couple of inches fell in my area of Snow on Trent Had bright sunshine and clear skies for most of the morning, but it's clouded over now, with those clouds that have that unique grey colour 'promise of snow' look to them, along with the sun slowly fading away with a 'frosted glass' appearance.
  4. Thankyou Storm Bella! She dropped a good couple of inches of snow on us as the core went past overnight ☃
  5. Looks more like upwards Ground to Cloud lightning to me. Have a look for Tom Warner's vids on Youtube, he has some amazing footage of this type, and this looks exactly like it.
  6. Porthcawl's website is showing a current windspeed of 43mph. EDIT : make that 47mph now Porthcawl Live Streaming Pier Cam | Porthcawl RNLI WWW.PORTHCAWL-LIFEBOAT.CO.UK Adjusted for British Summer Time when applicable Know the risks: The temperature of our waters can steal the air from your lungs and leave you helpless in seconds.
  7. Certainly beginning to get a bit gusty here now, nearby Wunderground stations picking up some good 40+ mph gusts and those are on the sheltered sides of the valleys where the current wind direction is concerned, going by how much the house is creaking they are probably getting to at least 50+ (I'm on the none sheltered side so getting the wind battering straight into the house ).
  8. Got some icy rain going on at the moment, sounded like hail pinging off of the windows, but when I looked it just had the appearance of rain. Stuck my hand out into it, and the drops have teeny tiny little icy cores to them.
  9. Hmmmmm... Since the sun went down the temps gone UP! 3 hours ago it was about 2c and dropping , it's now around 4c and rising..... So much for hoping
  10. Nothing but rain here all day Radar's showing sleet over us, but it's not making it to the ground. that as the temps drop things might get interesting.
  11. Article from the BBC about it. Disruption after 'thundersnow' hits Scotland WWW.BBC.CO.UK Hundreds of residents reported hearing explosions in the early hours of Friday caused by the weather phenomenon. Some people thought explosions, others thought sonic boom's, so definitely positive strikes.
  12. Looks like there's a bit of a squall line forming, just north of Manchester and Liverpool, things might be about to get a bit exciting around these parts. (Better than the constant rainy drizzle murk we've had all day so far. )
  13. There's a recon plane currently flying through the hurricane, about to make a second pass through the eye. Aircraft Reconnaissance - Tropical Tidbits WWW.TROPICALTIDBITS.COM Live updating recon data for the Atlantic basin Found a stream of a Local News channel if anyone's interested. They've had a van driving around taking footage.
  14. Not sure if it was a squall line that came through or something but the weather went absolutely nuts here at 6am this morning. Woke me up House was creaking from the intense gusts and rain was slating itself horizontal. Lasted for about 15/20 mins or so. Couple of links to nearby Wunderground stations. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/ISTOKE32/graph/2020-11-13/2020-11-13/daily https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/ISTOKEUP5/graph/2020-11-13/2020-11-13/daily
  15. There's some sleet in the shower passing over me right now, only the odd bit here and there (no where near enough to show on the radar) but could see the odd sleet splatter splot on the car windscreen below my window. It's also bloomin' freezing up here! Barely 5C!
  16. Is this still storm Aiden (I thought it was passing through yesterday) only the wind is going absolute bonkers outside. I can hear the hollow roar sound coming from the sky above inside the house! Let alone the constant creaking of the roof.
  17. http://livestormchasing.com//favicon-16x16.png Live Storm Chasing LIVESTORMCHASING.COM Watch live feeds as storm chasers try to see if their target verifies. Tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, and floods - we've got it all and... Have a look at Remote cam 3 - Waveland MS, Visible Storm surge incoming, can see it creeping up through the drains, slowly inundating the road and also beginning to creep over the pavement! EDIT: 5 mins later and Waves are now coming over the pavement and the road is completely underwater, prob about 2 - 3 inches, It's risen about a foot in the last 20 mins or so, this things rising fast! EDIT 2 : Getting a bit too dark to see now, but using the palm plant closest to the cam the surge is at about 2 foot and still rising
  18. I know allot of people seem to like the 'hidden quotes' thing, but personally I'm finding it really annoying to constantly open posts just to find out what other people are responding too. Is there any way to turn this off (for your own account). I've been searching through the settings options but I'm either going blind or there is none. p.s. Loving Dark Mode, I have dyslexia and it's SO much easier to read when it's reversed like this.
  19. Was only in the first couple that passed and they were tiny, (about half the size of a petti poi pea, melted within 10/15 secs or so). Now it's just torrential freezingly cold rain showers zooming by and a freezing cold wind coming from the NW.
  20. Got some quite viciously gusty showers coming in from the Irish Sea. Nice torrential heavy rain in them, and pretty certain I've seen the odd few tiny hail stone's pinging off of the car roof.
  21. Live Storm Chasing are setting up some remote Live Streaming cams, find them here ~ Live Storm Chasing LIVESTORMCHASING.COM Watch live feeds as storm chasers try to see if their target verifies. 22. That's a pretty big lump of 110 kt (125 mph'ish') winds right there in the NE on the latest pass. o_O
  23. Loads of Livestreaming Webcams here (webcamsdemexico) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UColBcWm6ybTbQnNuQS8JaKg Check the timestamp at the top, It's current 6:30 am and it's beginning to get light now, so any with earlier times are not working. Quite a few have gone down as the powers gone out so I'm assuming the one still up and running are on backup generators. Here's one that's still up, you can see waves hitting the hut despite it being on a small cliff overlooking the beach!, and talk about a red sunrise!
  24. Wow, look at that shockwave racing out from it on all sides, looks like an air pressure wave from an explosion o_O Seen it do this a few times now, but it's 'normally' just on the SW side, this it the first full circle I've seen.
  25. Just saw some lightning flashes (Definitely not power flashes as there was that half screen, tear, flicker thing that cams tend to do with lightning.) EDIT: More lightning flashes, flashes coming from the left side seems closer and when it pans right you can see the clouds lighting up in the distance over the sea. EDIT 2 : Found this one! IT HAS SOUND!!!! YOU MAY NEED TO TYPE LOUDER TO READ OVER THE NOISE!
