  1. A dozen miles or so up the road, and not a thing
  2. Radar =/= cake right now for Stoke on Trent.
  3. 40% chance for 12 hours of snow in the ST6 area according to Met. Netweather forecast on the other hand has 0% all day EDIT : Everything outside is covered in a thick layer of ice, car's are white with it, even the hedges have a pale sheen to them, so anything that does fall is definitely gonna stick.
  4. I think us Stokies will need to lay low for the next couple months
  5. Missed me, right on the edge of it too, just a barely there faint dust that melts so fast you can't even see it touch the ground.
  6. Still patiently waiting to be buried in my area Just a couple of light sprinklings that melted away fast so far here.
  7. It's kinda' strange, as the radar also shows us up here being in the thick of it, but there's nothing whatsoever, not even drizzle. I think it's all just blowing over us before it reaches anywhere near ground level.
  8. Looks like some snowy/sleety showers heading towards Stoke from the West. Hopefully they won't get 'eaten' by the line of hills running down from Crewe/Nantwich to Market Drayton.
  9. Still coming down thick and fast here. The Pavement Kerb to either side of the driveway at the top has almost vanished. Prob about 3 inches out there now. ❄
  10. Still Blizzarding it down outside, can't even see the houses 2 streets down the valley slope below! Just stuck a tape measure into snow on top of car too, good 2 inches
  11. Snowing Heavily in my area of Stoke on Trent, posted a pic in the Storm Christoph thread
  12. Snow Now in Stoke on Trent Temps dropped from 9C (7:30pm) to 0C now (9:30pm) with the last 4C in the last 30 mins or so. Was absolutely pelting it down with rain about 15 mins ago everywhere was soaking wet, amazed it's able to stick so quickly
  13. Nasty looking Squall line beginning to form from Manchester down to Devon. Snow in NE Wales https://twitter.com/stevealltami/status/1351982273286041601
  14. Had about an inch of rain here so far, been breezy with the rare 20mph gust, but nothing you'd normally consider 'storm' worthy, house hasn't even creaked once. Temps have been going up since 6pm though .
  15. They've been gritting around Longton too https://www.stoke.gov.uk/homepage/116/wheres_my_gritter
  16. Had the gritter go past the house 30 mins ago lol Useless waste is useless, typical for our council though.
  17. Was wondering if something interesting was going to happen as a gritter went past the house 30 mins ago. Talk about pre-emptive salting, it'll probably get washed away before it does any good. Looks like it's gonna be a doozy though *rubs hands together gleefully*.
  18. Getting little snowy 'bursts' now in amongst the snizzle (it'll completely stop for about 10/20 secs then the little bust comes down), and the snizzle itself is becoming, slowly, more and more snowy. ❄ Also Temps still sinking faster than me in a swimming pool!
  19. We have Sleet, I repeat, We have Sleet! roughly 10% flakes and 90% drizzle EDIT: it is now about 50% drizzle 50% flakes Even though the temps are still around 1.5C (dp 1C) they were at 2.7C around an hour ago so falling quite fast. I have all my fingers Crossed! Also one of my mum's friends sent a pic from her home in Yorkshire, It's looking like we did up here a few weeks back, good 2 - 3 inches of snow already there.
  20. It has a perfectly shaped stoke-on-trent space directly over stoke-on-trent
  21. I believe they have been taken without permission from 'Sigis Travel Videos' and 'Unclecoolie Productions' YouTube channels, as I recognise the one that was playing when I checked it out. Personally I'm amazed she hasn't been sacked for a 'younger model' yet... this IS the BBC we are talking about. _________ Anywho, on to the weather, here in Stoke-on-Trent we have a delightful drizzly fog, with a topping of drizzly fog and drizzly fog on the side. Urgh, I hate this sort of weather, makes my arthritis flare up badly (for whatever reason).
  22. Wow this squall-line (shortwave?) is pretty intense. Roads starting to flood outside after just a couple mins. ?
  23. Was still some large patches left in the Fields below the house before it got dark, but considering how much it's tipping it down, they are most likely completely gone by now. Still, it stuck around remarkable well. If only all this rain had turned up last week, we could be looking like Madrid right now.
