  1. Still some menacing looking cells moving past. Got this beauty my West. Got one in the distance to my NW (in the Crewe/Chester directional line) that's attempting to make an Anvil, done a bit of a pigs'ear job of it. But it's still trying. (apologies for the blurriness had to zoom in and my crappy phone cams idea of zooming is to make the pixels bigger )
  2. So Invest 93L has literally just formed and just entered the waters off of the West Coast of Africa. It's already pushing out what appears to be Gravity Waves! and has what appears to be closed circulation... Got a feeling in my gut that this ones gonna turn into a doozy!
  3. Yup, seems to be very slow moving, the lines just reaching me now, it's gone very dark outside
  4. Thought today was going to be boring, but got some massive towers to my South + South West shooting up and creating/breaking through pileus layers. Not to mention the very ominous looking storm passing to my North atm. To my South. There's literally about 30 seconds between shots, so should give you some idea as to how fast these are going up! I'm getting surrounded by them now
  5. Live Webcam from Naha Airport in Okinawa (South side of the Super Typhoon). Looks a tad windy.... Nagasaki Harbour and Airport Livestreaming Webcams (North of the Super Typhoon) Radar showing the eye of the Super Typhoon https://www.accuweather.com/en/jp/naha-shi/224944/weather-radar/224944
  6. We might be in for some 'fun' next weekend how often do you see possible tropical cyclone formation this far North!, that plus the remains of Omar = batten down the hatches maybe??? Who knows, maybe in 10 years time well be having our own hurricane season with how things are going EDIT: You can see both of them spinning away on this gif that un-named one is even trying to form thunderstorms in it's centre. How cute
  7. Some vicious looking clouds beginning to form, I know they'll come to nothing other than a 'sharp shower' further down the line, but still pretty neat to look at, got one that kind of looks like a shelf cloud (but without the storm) rolling past.
  8. Considering the massive blob coming at you on the radar, you won't be for long (more like Flooded ) Duck and Cover!
  9. I'd call that a funnel 'twas definitely spinning like a top. p.s. for anyone using WMPC use Alt+numpad 1 to rotate the video.
  10. There was a weird 'Tap/Crack' noise just as the lightning hit, but before the thunder.
  11. Pics or it didn't happen Also get a Webcam already!!!!!
  12. There's a very 'interesting' cloud heading towards the London Eye cam
  13. I see we are back to the normal weather pattern of the south hogging all the storms leaving us up here with dull grey murk and drizzle Enjoy them whilst they last
  14. Better than the near 12 hours of Dull Grey Murky Drizzle we've had up here all day. ______ Anybody want to swap
  15. Nope, wasn't that. According to the article it takes place over many MANY hours this was really fast. (Interesting though, all the same. )
  16. Water. Lots and Lots of water that they don't have to pay to use
  17. Biolab Inc chemical plant currently on fire at Westlake. Brett Adair's currently streaming it. https://livestormchasing.com/map
  18. Whelp looks like the cell towers emergency batteries have finally given out for the area, all of the Stormchasers who were live streaming all got cut off simultaneously
  19. https://livestormchasing.com/map Dawns approaching can start making out the water now on Brad Arnolds stream, looks very high, ground level looks completely inundated. This guys showing the damage live now EDIT: Just checked what the thing that's sticking up at the odd angle is on Google Earth Pro, and it's The First Baptist Church, the roof is built like that so it's higher at the front. EDIT 2 : Jeff's back live again, driving around now
  20. No ones on the coast yet, it's still pitch black over there and they are still in the hurricanes circulation so it's not like anyone can go check. Also, alot of the tide-gauges aren't sending data, either due to power outage or just being plain broken. One of those that is still working that was in the direct path of the eye is showing 10 ft, and that's plenty enough to submerge a single story building, so still deadly. _________ For anyone in the know. One thing I'm wondering about is that some of the gauges show a sudden drop in water level as the hurricane came ashore, up to 2ft below the expected tide level for that time before rapidly coming in even higher (looks more like a small tsunami with how it behaved). Is this normal??
  21. Got up just Intime to see the chasers in the eye at Lake Charles, winds just started to pick up again on the cameras and you can hear the faintly roar beginning to get louder...
  22. Check out the beachcam I linked a few posts up, the setting sun is highlighting the upper edge of the hurricane out at sea, looks amazing!
  23. One of the knot flags in the northern eyewall (2nd recon pass through) is showing 140knots!
