    Closing in!

Polystyrene Ball Shower  aka Graupel.  Very Windy during it too, especially at the front. Heard many, MANY Bins going over as the initial wind gust hit (was our Bin day this morning so they are all empty.)

Phantom snowfall everywhere, always a problem with these fronts.

Looking directly up there is a kind of very faint light/shadow streakiness to the cloudbase, guessing it's snow virga and the air is just so dry it's eating it up before it gets close to the ground.

Tis getting visibly darker here, can physically see the light level dropping, and clouds are getting darker to my West and South, so still a tiny bit of hope.

Just dipped below freezing again, after a maximum of +0.5 °C when there was a bit less cloud an hour or two ago. Didn't feel quite as cold out as yesterday around here, odd considering the wind is still a feature.

Been below freezing all day here, -1 is the highest it's gotten to and DP's at -9 currently.  Dry as a bone outside and looks deceptively warm with the lack of frost but as soon as you go outside it's bitter as the 9th circle of hell, especially with the gusty wind.

Wow. Where did that come from? GFS gives me a whole cm!

Problem is the direction yet again, it needs to get past our Western Snowshield of hills stretching from Nantwich through Market Drayton to Newport.

Will still be glued to the radar and crossing my fingers regardless though.

  5. Still below freezing outside, despite the Birdbath being in full sunlight all day it's STILL frozen solid!Gotta go out in a bit to pick up my mother's prescription, not looking forward to it at all considering how windy it is here, probably gonna feel like -5 or lower out there!

Completely dry I can see more showers coming down from the north east. All tracking a fraction of a mile to my east and west. What does it take to get just one shower in the right position that doesn’t die out?!

Guess it's just hitting Hanley/Fenton  area then, looks heavy as everything beyond about Abby Hulton distance from me  has vanished behind a wall of white.

      Localised shower is very local.

Had 3 days of lying snow this year, which is pretty dire compared to other areas. Then again, what can you expect from Stratford? Found these map which places it among the least snowiest areas of the whole region (unsurprisingly).

Just show's how 'warm' river valleys are, they are clearly visible in the first image.

Missed by a fraction of a mile I can see it snowing in the distance. More showers following though.

@Ryukai Line of showers developing over land and heading for Stoke.

Just got in, I am currently drooling over the mass that's heading in, coming in from a touch more to the NNE too which is giving me hope, the bit heading towards me doesn't have to get over Leek/Cheddleton.

Ditto. Just occasional showers while streamers have constantly passed just a few miles to my south.

That band to the north of us does seem to be slowly sinking southwards??? and the gap between seems to be narrowing and beginning to fill in over to the east.

Nothing here. I’m watching all those really heavy showers drifting down from the north east and all tracking to just a few miles south of me. I’d have seen a really good event here if the wind had just slightly more of an easterly element to it.

Barely lasted a minuet.  Enough to make it look like the car roof's have a bit of hail on 'em (quite large bits, just under 5mm in size but still soft enough to squish).  I'm currently drooling in the direction of the one just south of Manchester and wishing it was here  .  Pity our 'streamer' basically died off just as it began to reach us.
