Snowing in Longton
Nothing at me yet, ya Jammy Sod. I need to move to Longton
-
Just had an absolute pounding with hail, Snowing like nuts now
-
Had the first proper hail shower of the year around 1'o'clock'ish. It's all streaming through the gap, so got my fingers crossed and hoping for something 'noisy' a bit later.

45mph Gusts here, just constant banging from bins flying outside. xD
No sleep for me tonight -
WoW! Weathers going insane! Bins flying up the drive, house feels like something's slamming into it, (kinda like a small earthquake), the gusts are that strong! Not to mention it's as if someone's dumping a swimming pool onto us. xD
-
Got a little bit of drizzle coming over and it's been dry here for so long that the smell of Petrichor (❤) from the damp soil is strong enough to make the entire house smell of it, and it's not even as if I have any windows open.

Phantom snowfall everywhere, always a problem with these fronts.
Looking directly up there is a kind of very faint light/shadow streakiness to the cloudbase, guessing it's snow virga and the air is just so dry it's eating it up before it gets close to the ground.
Tis getting visibly darker here, can physically see the light level dropping, and clouds are getting darker to my West and South, so still a tiny bit of hope.

Just dipped below freezing again, after a maximum of +0.5 °C when there was a bit less cloud an hour or two ago. Didn't feel quite as cold out as yesterday around here, odd considering the wind is still a feature.
Been below freezing all day here, -1 is the highest it's gotten to and DP's at -9 currently. Dry as a bone outside and looks deceptively warm with the lack of frost but as soon as you go outside it's bitter as the 9th circle of hell, especially with the gusty wind.

*Radar shows heavy green blob over me. Looks outside...
Radar is a LIE!!!

Wow. Where did that come from? GFS gives me a whole cm!
Problem is the direction yet again, it needs to get past our Western Snowshield of hills stretching from Nantwich through Market Drayton to Newport.
Will still be glued to the radar and crossing my fingers regardless though.

Around -3’C here. Amazing how the light breeze manages to stop a frost developing.
Nice and balmy then, got a lovely -4.5 here

Hmm... Wind's picking up, been a good few gusts the last 30 mins or so, including a 'house creaker'. Could feel a faint icy cold draft coming from the window when it did despite being about 3 foot away.

Completely dry I can see more showers coming down from the north east. All tracking a fraction of a mile to my east and west. What does it take to get just one shower in the right position that doesn’t die out?!
Guess it's just hitting Hanley/Fenton area then, looks heavy as everything beyond about Abby Hulton distance from me has vanished behind a wall of white.
Localised shower is very local.

*looks towards Longton Direction
@MattStoke you having fun over there? Just had a 30 sec, on the very edge, sprinkling here.
-
Bah humbug. Died and split apart as it came over, Blue skies to my NE again. Still got my fingers crossed for something nice.

Heavy snow now while the sun is out. Settling in the shade.
Just beginning to start here, always nice seeing flakes glinting in the sunlight as they fall.

Just show's how 'warm' river valleys are, they are clearly visible in the first image.

Missed by a fraction of a mile I can see it snowing in the distance. More showers following though.
@Ryukai Line of showers developing over land and heading for Stoke.
Just got in, I am currently drooling over the mass that's heading in, coming in from a touch more to the NNE too which is giving me hope, the bit heading towards me doesn't have to get over Leek/Cheddleton.

Is it just me or do those 2 streamers North & south of Stoke gradually getting closer and almost filling in? Probably wishful thinking!
Great minds think alike!

Ditto. Just occasional showers while streamers have constantly passed just a few miles to my south.
That band to the north of us does seem to be slowly sinking southwards??? and the gap between seems to be narrowing and beginning to fill in over to the east.

Nothing here. I’m watching all those really heavy showers drifting down from the north east and all tracking to just a few miles south of me. I’d have seen a really good event here if the wind had just slightly more of an easterly element to it.
Barely lasted a minuet. Enough to make it look like the car roof's have a bit of hail on 'em (quite large bits, just under 5mm in size but still soft enough to squish). I'm currently drooling in the direction of the one just south of Manchester and wishing it was here . Pity our 'streamer' basically died off just as it began to reach us.

Woo! Proper Snow shower , non of that graupel rubbish.
I love how quiet it goes when it snows, even as it's falling. Best part about it
