Just nipped up top of Ball Green to get some Electricity, hoping to do so before the 'rain' came in, and got absolutely pelted with hail.

Not sure if you know the exact location of Stoke but we certainly are not in a prime location on that we are in the light blue(0.2-0.5)/gap region between N.Wales and the Pennines (but closer to the Pennines side).

Personally not getting my hopes up for this one Coming from the wrong direction for northern S-o-T. It'll all get dumped on the moors and we'll be in the dry shadow like normal up 'ere. Might get some blow dusty stuff if I'm lucky though.

Apparently under the thick of it again (according to the radar), and not even an odd random flake, absolutely Zilch here. I could understand if it was falling here and being blown elsewhere, but I can actually see the cloudbase and the odd skudd.
(Also is it me or is the forum lagging)

Nothing all day here in my area of SoT, just slightly damp from the overnight rain we had. But other than that not even drizzle here. Radar is lying for me again
-
Sleeting here aswell, big noticeable flakes amongst the drizzle now too, pity this is the back end and will be going past shortly.
EDIT: Plenty of Snow up on the Winking Man webcam

There was nowt in Newcastle mate. Only person get snow yesterday in the whole of Stoke on Trent was Matt lol.
A fair bit left in Parksite up from Silverdale last night, but that was from Wednesday nights Snow lol
That last sentence was on about the little pop up shower that came over about 4'ish hours ago, today.
Gave a min or so of sleety drizzle as it passed over Chesterton/Newcastle according to my mother. There was another one about 30 mins later that came over me and gave about a 30 second drizzle.

I thought all of Stoke saw at least some snow yesterday. Loads in Longton. Just far south enough for it.
Nope we got sod all Had a dusting that lasted about 15 mins which then mostly melted away within the hour after and that was it, dry as a bone all day here. Sun even came out for a couple hours.
We do still have some frozen snow left from the absolute dumping we had a few nights ago, so any 'snow' you see up here is from then, though that's rapidly melting now too.

Looks like a Cheshire Gap streamer is trying to set up.

Radar is so off today,
its stopped here but should be heavy
Just before it got dark I could see silhouetted snow virga coming down from the clouds to my West, it was descending about a thumbs height (at arms length) down from the clouds before getting blown sideways at almost 90 degrees, stuff's traveling miles away from the actual cloud base. So if you're directly under the northern half of the cloud you'll likely get nothing.

Make sure you check your dog's foot pads for blisters/frostbite. Dog's don't have shoes to protect their bare flesh from the cold, and short-haired dog's are exceptionally vulnerable. A friend in my old class at high school (decades ago) had to have one of their pet dogs paw's amputated because it got frostbite after a walk during the winter.

Meanwhile the snow has started to stick to the roads...

Stoke will get the best now, heavy stuff now to my north, around 8cms so great event, but Stoke should get more than that
Beginning to come down faster now Still only about 5p size flakes atm though and not sticking yet.

its just NOT moving back south. Prove me wrong someone please!!
Give it time, if you look at the full radar map you can see two small surface lows beginning to rotate right next to each other (one over Wales and the other over Devon), they will probably start to 'orbit' each other and pull the band back south as they do. The top of the band has already started to move from the East to the West.
-
Woo-hoo, finally, got some decent size flakes falling, getting visibly darker by the second too

Whelp it's definatly traveling westwards now, clouds are moving in that direction. Got a sugar-sifter/flour dusting going on atm, hopefully the moor's won't eat it all and give us some.

Suns out at the moment here, BUT! there's a massive dark cloudbank to the SE and looking at the radar it's beginning to pivot and head directly towards us, got everything I can cross crossed in the hope it doesn't pitter out.

you north Stoke, South Stoke looks like doing best
Yup, up near the border with Cheshire. As the crow flies it's about 3 1/2 miles North, Longton's about 5 miles south.
EDIT: I see dust falling ?

Sleetyness is slowly changing to a larger snow to rain ratio. Temps are beginning to plummet now too.
Currently everything that can be crossed, is crossed, in the hope well get a bit of proper snow tonight.
