  1. Re: Saturday/Sunday snow Easterlies can spring surprises with snowfall, as they have a much longer sea track. They can be a bit more of an unknown, but the more Easterly/North Easterly the wind is the better we will do. If the winds veer South East then the snow chances will probably decrease. As always look out for posts from the more experienced posters especially from the likes of the following: Steve Murr (although will be posting on the London & South East discussion) The Eye in the Sky - our in house East Anglia/East Midlands expert! Thundery Wintery Showers - another in house East Anglia expert! Nick Sussex Nick F Thundery Wintery Showers Kold Weather (although not sure if he is posting this weekend) There are others like Ian Brown, North Sea Convection, but the above are the more regular posters. I for one am hoping for not much snow, as my work is suffering and I need it to warm up, but what I say will have no bearing on the weather, lol! Enjoy.
  2. LOL, enjoy! .....and you got tomorrow night's snow and Sunday..... I remember watching the news during the 1980's cold weather spells and North and East Kent being cut off for days in huge snow drifts.
  3. Whats that big yellow blob coming your way neilsouth....... Lucky git!
  4. LOL, my wife is struggling with work at the moment! Secretly I would love it to be heavy snow, but just not now as can't afford it. Anyway what I say aint going to change anything! NB - ECM run is an amazing run tonight if you love cold and snow.
  5. Can't believe I am about to say this......but I hope it isn't heavy snow!
  6. Totally agree with this post. As much as I love snow, I really want it to warm up now. A lot of businesses are really struggling now and this cold weather is having a huge negative impact on our economy. I am hoping that the GFS is right and it begins to warm up by middle of next week!
  7. Lol, probably the best forecast I've seen on here and not too far from what will happen!
  8. I find this constant BBC/Meto bashing quite tedious. No amount of computer calculating/modelling will guarantee what happens at an exact location all of the time! BBC did predict that 'some' areas may receive 'up to 5cm' this morning, and so far this has happened. The low really appeared to intensify off the coast of Denmark in the early hours, I was tracking this low and it was heading for East Anglia and was indicating heavy snow for many areas. Unfortunately (if you want snow) it lost a lot off intensity when it hit land. Sometimes these things can just happen. The weather can and will change at the very last minute. NB - I think the BBC have been quite accurate in the last week for amount of snow and areas that would be affected.
  9. The North Sea low looks just like your avatar! Amazing rotation on the radar.
  10. Having lived in London most of my life, I thought that it was only cities that had rats......doh Since moving to the countryside, I now realise this is their true habitat and the fields and barns are just teeming with rats! Lol. Rats do love barns!
  11. Thanks for the updates mate, and get your hip sorted out tomorrow.
  12. Ditto to the above post, best place to find easy to understand, but also detailed weather forecasts.
  13. Looks like Ramsgate, Minster, Sandwich and possibly Deal that will receive the heaviest ppn soon.
  14. I think you been spot on with most of your forecasts this winter!
  15. The main heaviest ppn for Kent is just nearing the North East Kent coast (around Herne Bay & Margate). Looks like it will only affect the Eastern parts of Kent only. Will it still stay as heavy snow?
  16. The main bulk of the PPN is moving South Westwards. It appears to lose intensity when it moves inland, but some areas look like doing well from this.
  17. Just for you neilsouth..... Hope you get the snow as I think you been waiting long enough! Lol.
  18. Well we had 3 to 4 inches combined in Buntingford (North East Herts) from last night and this afternoon. Also plenty of snow in surrounding areas (the most Northern extent was Royston on borders with South Cambridgeshire). Was not really expecting this snowfall!
  19. Kold Weather, a lot of respect to you mate, you called this just right over the last couple of days and provided unbiased forecasting for the South East/East Anglia. Appreciate the regular updates.
  20. Have had moderate/heavy snow in Buntingford, North East Herts for last 30 minutes and has left about a 3cm covering. Wasn't really expecting this.
