  1. Wind really picking up here in Bromley, some rain on the cars I can see so it must have been rain in that first band
  2. Seems like temps are below freezing here now in Bromley, already pretty frosty - let’s hope for no rain before the snow Still a lot of me expects to wake up to a rainy mess...
  3. Have to remember that Amber area will see snow for longest, and well into rush hour. That could take it into that 5-10cm bracket. The idea remains that 1-3cm widely over the yellow area
  4. Fantastic forecast for us from the MetO, really hope they’re not overplaying it. It does seem like East Anglia will be the best place to be, but I’m hoping here in Bromley (being 60m asl) I should be in with a shot of something...
  5. Snowing in Bromley finally, very light but better than this morning
  6. Held together so well just before getting to Bromley, typical
  7. Looks like some more building in off the North Sea just above the Thames Estuary so that is encouraging
  8. Fog seems to be descending pretty quickly here in Bromley, blowing around a bit in the lampposts lights so I guess you could call it snizzle if you were desperate aha
  9. A few flakes on cars here in Bromley, hoping for something on Friday
  10. Think a few flakes are blowing around in Bromley, waiting for heavier precipitation to arrive in a bit
  11. Is there any chance the precipitation will beef up a little, or is it going to be these very narrow lines all evening?
  12. What’s this optimism?? Been starved of it recently, I’ll be watching the lampposts, hopefully I’m just about south enough here in Bromley to nudge my way into a streamer. Just looking like I’m a few miles too north just right now
  13. Rookie question maybe.. if I’m 60m asl and the freezing level is 200m, is that enough distance for the snow to all melt before it hits me? Or does it not work like that?
  14. Pretty perfect Thames Streamer for my location in Bromley, couldn’t have drawn it better. Unbelievably frustrating, let’s hope for tonight
  15. There have been many more showers here today than models expected, the dew points have been lower than expected in some places at least, the BBC hasn’t covered itself in glory lately, let’s not all give up just yet
  16. WunderMap® | Interactive Weather Map and Radar | Weather Underground WWW.WUNDERGROUND.COM Weather Underground’s WunderMap provides interactive weather and radar Maps for weather conditions for locations worldwide. You can select dew point as the layer in here, this is what I use
  17. Quite hard to work out what’s going to happen. Seeing many tweets about how this is the start of a nice cold rain fest this week, but if it’s mixing at +ve dew points (it isn’t here in Bromley, FYI) it does give me some hope
  18. ^^ it’s a hard place to be this morning, the MOD thread. SSW confusing the models, I’m still just thinking about tomorrow and whether we can see more snow-conducive conditions arrive
  19. Great GFS charts there, we know they will probably be wrong but shows the potential, seeing as it’s hard to grasp these sorts of events
  20. Encouraging to see the convective activity further north this morning really catch out the models. I reckon they’ll be downplaying our chances in a few days time, so keep the faith and leave it to a nowcast situation
  21. Rain here in Bromley, why did I manage to sleep through the shower earlier that reportedly had snow
  22. Well the MAD thread really isn’t the place to be this afternoon haha! Anyway, I’m expecting dew points and uppers to be slightly overestimated at the moment - might be more in hope, but I can understand models being confused with the current setup, and forecasters unwilling to nail their colours to the mast wrt snow potential. I think a warmer North Sea will provide some heavier precipitation which may help me out at only 60m asl. All will be resolved soon (after the events mostly aha) and all I can say is I’m glad there’s so much going on as a nice distraction to the world atm.
