Just woken up, looks like a cm has fallen overnight but falling lightly now. I’m under the northern part of that light streamer. Looks like it should be continuing

Need some more convection to start happening please, I guess we have a while for this streamer to set up. I might go to bed now and wake up early

Is the blob really dying out
Slightly on northern edge, not really elsewhere

as mused early the suffolk blob that looked primed for the whole London region is drying up around Chelmsford... onto the next blob hunt...
The radar has issues around there, I’d give it a chance...
If you’re using netweather radar anyway

Hello Bromley from Orpington - the blob out over Sufflok looks great and is back bouilding of the coast, my concern is that once it gets to north Essesx it appears to shear of southwards or just stops.... if you can please play radar and see what you think?
Looks alright to me. That big green bit looks too far north for us, but who’s to say it won’t build? The stuff south of it coming into the estuary could be good if it peps up a bit. I think we have more chance of proper heavier stuff from streamers and convergences highlighted by Met4Cast above.

The precip coming from the North Sea and EA is looking very good. Really hoping it starts to pile through SE London soon.
Any reports from Ipswich area on intensity?
You reckon the angle looks good? I’m in Bromley and assume you’ll be able to tell better than me haha

It's stopped snowing here now and the skies are starting to clear. Not sure if that bodes well for a Thames snow streamer later or not?
Yep that’s good, get the heavy cloud out the way and showers can drive in. I’d say it looks pretty good for us in NW Kent, Bexley, Bromley etc (at the moment)

Streamers look to be lining up a little more NE than ENE, not sure how much change there could be to that if we’re looking for a classic Thames streamer? I’m thinking i could be okay personally with that wind direction but I guess I’m pretty SE of london

Yep can definitely agree with a tick up in precipitation in SE London, still not too much but slightly bigger flakes

whats the difference for shower activity further north, the thames estuary very quiet in comparison.....cloud cover??
Yep basically blocking the chance for real convection to happen, but this will change later

It’s still light, maybe 3.5/10 but heaviest it’s been today. It’s going to have to fall right this evening for streamers, but remember how the models underestimated last night, should be better if we can get that convection going

Light snow continues here in Bromley. I’m prime location for a Thames streamer so here’s hoping. Hard to gauge how much accumulation as it keeps drifting but I’ve got a few drifts that look about 10-15cm so I imagine something like 7/8cm has actually fallen

Still light fine snow here, I guess it’s accumulating slowly but wind is blowing it around. Hoping for something heavier tonight with that possible Thames Streamer

Anyway lastly London and surrounding will take a blast soon from the overide.. a couple of fresh cms in the cards...
South east London doing well with that you reckon? Not a lot to report, just constant light stuff not much. I’ll head off and see what’s happened later
-
Bit better in Bromley finally, light small stuff but coming down fast
-
I have no idea how all of it is dying around me
-
Radar looks about right here in Bromley, nothing of note - light snizzle
-
Small flakes, must be that icy stuff we had earlier that settled so well. Blowing sideways, let’s see if this can continue. Lots of good noises on Twitter and here about SE London, so that’s hope
-
Looks pretty edgy for Bromley, need some more westwards development, or hope those ones in Essex can push all the way down. Fingers crossed (and super bowl on)

Snow has calmed down here, I think I’m just out the narrow heavier band now. Still small flakes coming down lighter, I’ve got about 7cm on the grass now

Does anyone know if winds will start to veer ENE at any point this evening or overnight?
If I’m not misremembering what I’ve read, that’s the idea. I’m really watching for a Thames streamer type system for our areas. There is so much building in the North Sea, and as temps fall I can see it settling much easier than it did this morning

Settling on roads now, everything slowly turning white. It seems like more small icy pellets than snowflakes, but anything to cover surfaces white Quite heavy now we must be up to 4cm on the grass now

Moderate snow continues here, still struggling to set on paths but I’ve got about 2/3cm on the grass

I’m feeling quite good in Bromley about that long line of convection stretching up to Norwich. Still refusing to settle on roads and pavement though
Still going... starting to settle on outdoor tables etc
