  1. I have noticed that, in my area at least, when there has been an early Easter, the spring has been cold or has featured cold/wintry weather. 2008 (March 23) - Snowed on Easter Sunday and had a significant snowfall in April. 2013 (March 31) - The coldest spring I have ever known with severe snow in late March and consistent cold in April. 2016 (March 27) - Not particularly memorable but there was a cold April with a few snow and hail showers lasting days. 2018 (April 1) - Snow and cold in late March and a cold Easter (it improved later though) In contrast to springs with late Easters: 2011 (April 24) - A warm and summery April and a heatwave around Easter. 2019 (April 21) - Not spring but the warmth arrived early with a warm sunny February and a pleasant late March. There was a warm Easter weekend. I don’t know whether it was like this years ago but in the last decade or so this has been the case in my area.
  2. I don’t think there is an exact coldest time in a mild climate. It can vary significantly. In 2010/11 December was the coldest but in 2018 early March brought the coldest temperatures. I’d say January is generally coldest inland and February along coasts but difficult to pin it down a a particular coldest week.
  3. It’s been the best snowfall of the winter in the midlands. It’s been snowing all day and still is
  4. I’ve literally just noticed it here 5 minutes ago here in south Derbyshire. It was 11C earlier and now it’s like a blizzard. I’ve never seen anything like it It’s not even very cold really
  5. It has been much colder than average most days since Christmas Eve with highs ranging from -1 to 4. We have had one heavy snowfall on December 29 and a lighter accumulation on January 2. It’s been a decent one but nothing special IMO
  6. I prefer snowstorms in December and January and milder weather in February and March. But don’t mind occasional wintry weather until March 31. By April I want warm weather
  7. We had some decent snow on December 29 but since then it’s just been cold with the odd flurry. I don’t think we’re in for a March 2018 again this week.
  8. A bitter night tonight with a temp of -2. No more snow despite forecast until potentially next week.
  9. We’ve actually had a decent snowfall here in Derbyshire. It snowed all yesterday morning. The cold over the next few days should be able to retain it??
  10. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow and it looks cold for at least 2 weeks
