  1. This gloom is getting monotonous. It’s coming to the point I can’t be bothered with summer anymore I’m ready to get the Halloween decorations out
  2. In the 2010s the great summers were from my memory: 2013 - hot dry July and warm August 2018 - warm dry June and hot dry July Good summers: 2014 - warm June and July, poor August but redeemed by a warm dry September. 2019 - poor first halves of all three and intense heat in the second half of all three.
  3. 2013 was a good summer. July 2013 had a long heatwave. June and July 2014 were good summer months too.
  4. The weather is set to improve for a few days here to 21-22C but as a whole this is the worst August since 2017.
  5. Now we’ve almost come to the end of July, I’d say Summer 2021 has been not really poor but very bland here. June was half good and half bad. July has been fairly good, okay beginning, great middle and a poor end. August is setting off abysmally:
  6. Beautiful day but was hot walking around. 30C in Dartmoor. The best spell of 2021 so far. I find the ‘extreme heat warning’ excessive. This heatwave is tame compared to what we had in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
  7. It’s definitely over the top as it’s only 32C tops but it has never been 40C in the UK.
  8. Stunning summers day in Torquay. Sunny with 26C so not uncomfortable like the inland areas. Looking glorious up until Thursday! Hopefully this is a turning point and August and September are good too.
  9. Glad the weather is finally improving. 28C by Sunday!
  10. July has been very wet with thundery downpours since Saturday ⛈ Today is cool and showery but tomorrow looks average.
  11. There are severe heatwaves worldwide this summer. USA, Canada, Russia, Sweden and Finland, etc. We are one of the only areas of poor weather. The only other areas are southern Norway, western France and the north coast of Spain. I can’t believe how cool the north coast of Spain is. Who’d have thought it would be one of the coolest areas of Europe??
  12. 2021 has been a crap year, one of the worst I’d say. January was cold with potential for snow but failed to deliver for many areas. April was frigid. May was abhorrently wet, cold and dull. June started well but has turned into a cloud fest. And July is looking the same…
  13. I have noticed too. Eastern Europe is always warmer than Western Europe in summer. Also it seems as though Germany sometimes is hotter than France for some reason.
  14. June has been okay I’d say. Not good not bad, just okay. However, this is turning into a drab summer. Just clouds and cool. Into July it’s forecasted to be cloudy and 21-22C
  15. Our climate is the one of the worst in Europe in my opinion. Only Iceland, Norway and Ireland are worse. We have boring cool summers that Germany and even southern Sweden can do better and our winters are mild and dull with little snow. I understand many people in extreme climates would want to live in a mild climate but I think by mild they mean somewhere like coastal California or coastal Portugal not the UK.
  16. The U.K. is so boring climate wise. Parts of the western USA have seen 50C and even some midwestern areas saw over 40C earlier in June. Next week is a true scorcher in the Pacific Northwest.
  17. It’s been a washout since Friday but the weather doesn’t as bad as it did for the next week or so, mainly cloudy with temps around average.
  18. Wow. I wasn’t aware heat potential was that low! What was it like there on 25 July 2019?
  19. “Our warmest day in years”? It’s only going to be 26C there
  20. I don’t think there’s much to moan about this June so far, it’s been warm and sunny. Sure, today’s dull and there’s been some cloud around on some other days but this is not Arizona. It’s not going to be sunny everyday in Northern Europe.
  21. Been really sunny today here 23C. Tomorrow and Friday look overcast but fairly warm. Sunday is forecasted to be a hot day and it might reach 30C on June 13! Bit of a one day wonder though because Monday looks colder.
  22. Murky morning. Expected to be just 17C today but luckily it’s only supposed to be poor for today and it’s back to above average temperature and sunny.
  23. Looks like it could be hottest day of the year today and then again tomorrow. Forecast high of 24C today.
