The middle third of June was fantastic but the last few days although still warm have been very cloudy here. Where’s the sun?!

Stunning June after the chilly start. Even now the heatwave has ended it’s still warm and sunny intervals. It’s also been one the most thundery months for my area in recent years.

Jesus Christ I’ve never seen a storm like this

I think it’s going to be hotter than yesterday IMBY providing it doesn’t cloud over we’re already at 23.5C and yesterday we didn’t achieve 22C till 12:30 here.

Looks very dark out to the west at the moment. I don’t think we will get any storms but I think some in the West Midlands might!

Absolutely stunning forecast Finally a summery spell that pretty much the whole of northwest Europe can enjoy (even Iceland)!

I’m going for 35C at some point in July. Even though it has become more common as of late, above 37C is still extremely hot for this country and I don’t think should be expected every year.

As much as next week looks great, there’s a terrifying GFS chart for the week after Hoping it doesn’t come off!

I don’t think I can ever recall such a long run of dispersed cold dry days in late May or June before. Last year’s jubilee Sunday was cold but it was raining, 2019 had a few cold days but again it was rainy.

I can’t wait for the weekend’s warmer spell and for this anticyclonic gloom to end. I don’t even care if it brings a bit of rain, just anything to get rid of this spring like chill!!

Somehow it’s managed to be even worse than yesterday here topping out at just 12.1C. Very dank and dreary out too.

God this is depressing! When is it going to warm up? 13C and cloud and it’ll probably be like it all week, let’s be honest.
It’s like we’re being punished for last year’s warmth or something!

I’m highly surprised by people making the comparison to 2018 or 2020 after the very wert and rather dull first half of May! Also whilst it’s been nice and sunny out there for days, temperature wise it’s not been that much above average round here.

Nicest day since last September at least. Not a single cloud in the sky!

Fantastic day today after a dull start!

Hit 21C today! Overcast afternoon though but still decent for May. After a thundery and very wet start, this May is starting to look quite benign.

Looks rubbish for tomorrow’s coronation It’s was terrible on the Jubilee Sunday last year and was one of the few periods of bad weather in spring/summer in 2022. The jubilee in 2012 was also a washout. And I’ve heard but might be wrong but the 1953 coronation and 1977 jubilee were washouts too!?

Surprised to see September 2018- It was really good in the South East! Not so great in your area?
Hot first weekend, rest of the month meh. Not a bad September but there’s no Septembers that stuck out as terrible other than 2017 which I used for August.

January 2014
February 2022
March 2019 (unremarkable but nothing left)
April 2012
May 2021
June 2016
July 2020
August 2017
September 2018
October 2013 (unremarkable but nothing left)
November 2011 (don’t remember but had to put somewhere)
December 2015
March, October and November are the hardest because I don’t expect anything from these months.

If we had a classic summer but with one terrible month would most people prefer:
cool wet June, hot dry July/August
hot dry June, cool wet July, hot dry August or
hot dry June/July, cool wet August

I smelt petrichor for the first time today, a sure sign summer is on the way! Quite a pleasant day when the sun was out but rainy at times later.

What a borefest!! Other than a few springlike days around Valentines week and the March 8/9 snow event, 2023 is by far the most boring year of the decade so far!

29C on my weather station (unofficial of course) and sunny intervals. My hottest reading so far this year.
