  1. Light snow shower here combined with dawn chorus = morning magic!! Update - continuous snow for past hour, settled on grass and shed roof. Mainly light intensity but occasional heavier burst. Exciting!!
  2. heavy blustery shower here now. On radar it seemed to originate over Blackdown hills from nowhere perhaps a local orographic effect
  3. Absolutely howling wind now and 1.5c, surely only a matter of time before some white stuff....
  4. Nr Tunbridge Wells visiting family. Pressure falling sharply here. Should be a wild night, stay safe all.
  5. Very loud thunderstorm overhead right now - plenty of lightning. Woke me up with a jolt!! Temp 11c, storm came in over Channel.
  6. Massive storm here over 1 inch rain in past hour. Great thunder claps. TV signal disrupted so can't watch footy at moment
  7. Touch of hail and heavy convective downpour here. About the only place in the UK where currently raining!! Had a few warmer intervals today but been sultry and almost tropical feel throughout. Trout in the river going mad for the may fly! Thunder now - first t-storm since last autumn!
  8. Bright start, albeit with the purple hue that often forewarns of storms. Downpour of hail, then sleet showers. Incoming thunder. Great stuff!
  9. Stunning evening walk with the dog under an inky blue and then inky black sky. Crystal clear starry skies. Wind has died right down. Saw the gritter out for first time in a long time. Met Office say -4c in parts. Still hoping for a rogue snow shower! Proper winter weather.
  10. Light snow shower just now, didn't settle but radar shows a couple of bands of ppn have made it over the Bristol Channel and are headed south so hopefully a bit more snow potential here.
  11. Good morning all, Just had a 'wintry mix' shower here. Very light but def sleet in there. Now 2c, ice covering on cars his morning very pretty patterns.
  12. Had at least 3 lengthy squally showers overnight. Really intense rain. Just now there is a thunderstorm rumbling round the Axe Valley - which I suspect will be flooded again when we can see at dawn.
  13. Torrential rain in the past 30 mins. Gales this morning have subsided but persistent heavy rain all day. River Axe flooding nr Whitford and the Coly is getting high too. Much surface water - be careful out.
  14. Looking the radar and what's tracking off the Atlantic and channel, going to get hammered here for a good few hours from mid morning. Def flooding event IMHO.
  15. Wind has completely died down in last 30 mins. 14c, primroses in bloom and birds twittering. Surreal.
  16. Quite significant beach erosion around Seaton and Branscombe beaches today. Squall line just passed here. Dramatic stuff.
  17. Forgot to say the last remaining avro vulcan bomber (The Spirit of Great Britain) flew overhead just before the storms started, What an amazing sight and the noise was awesome. I did a double take as from beneath it looks like concorde (and sounds like it too!). Rain torrential again.
  18. Good luck - hope you get some action. The back edge is just clearing through now and headed pretty much due north.
  19. Pitch black now in Seaton, thunder overhead and heavy rain just started. Exciting. Was 26c early and swimming in the sea! Fork lightning just now
  20. Looking out the window here the clouds are clearly going East to West more quickly than before . What's happening some sort of intensification in the channel?I understand that as we are north of the low the air movement is East to West but really picked up now.
  21. sun peeking out now near Axminster still light rain/drizzle though
  22. I think that storm was the one I could see and hear. It was sat in the ridge between Axminster and Honiton and was quite a large towering cn. Very heavy rain shower just now but short lived. Deathly still and I think I can see another cell forming off the coast at Seaton.
