  1. Hail, wind and instability. Huge waves down at Seaton.
  2. Couple of sharp hail showers here mid-morning, moving through quickly on the wind. Last night about 1 AM there was a storm close by to the north. Nice to get some seasonal autumnal weather for a change. 11c too so not warm...
  3. Might fire up the log burner tonight if clear! What a change from 2/3 weeks ago when couldn't sleep because of the heat.
  4. 4c here in Colyton this morning. We are sheltered here so def a frost hollow effect. Still noteworthy for Mid-Aug!
  5. Heavy shower here in Wadhurst. Red Arrows just flown past heading West, so look out over Ashdown Forest area.
  6. Ditto where I am staying in Wadhurst. Now sunny but more storms lined up in the distance.
  7. 27c here now and the occasional, welcome light breeze has dropped. Desperate for a storm to freshen things up...
  8. Sat in the garden, sun shining, glass of red and it's raining lightly. Lovely and refreshing and wonderful earthy smell from ground. The joys of an English summer.
  9. Afternoon all. Looking NE from here there is a line of fast forming thunder clouds. Would say they are currently 20 to 30 miles away or so but interesting formations. Could be storms over say Bridport, Yeovil and then perhaps coming through here (Axminster/Seaton area). Friends in Hampshire reporting intense storms moving SW. Keep a look out.
  10. I can see a band of large storms which have developed in past 40 mins to my NE so Honiton/Exeter. Anybody under them - conditions?
  11. Can hear distant booms, checked on radar and there are quite intense storms that have appeared in the Channel and heading to South Devon (Torquay). Not what I expected!
  12. Had the joy of playing cricket at Shobrooke Park (Crediton) today. Hot and humid in the field for 3 hours . Huge storm at Tea (5 pm) pitch under water. Back home nr Seaton - not a drop of rain all day apparently.
  13. Storm cell crossing East Devon coast. First one of night. Plenty still in channel, pivot now seems N/NW rather than NE so we may get more in this region now. Torrential rain on leading edge and loud thunder.
  14. Persistent drizzle and damp start on East Devon coast this morning.
  15. A few rumbles and a short lived shower at about 09.30, rain just started again and stopped shortly after. Sea breeze picked up now so humidity gone. All in all not much to report. The tasty cells looked to be over West Cornwall.
  16. Lovely morning here on East Devon/Dorset border. 16c and sunny with a few lumpy looking shower clouds in the distance.Humid.
  17. Seaton - sunshine and occasional cloud cover all day. Brief heavy shower around 8 pm ish but almost endless storms passing some 20 miles north. Some areas would have got a pasting!
  18. Yes looks quite spectacular on radar. Let us know what's its like - enjoy!
  19. Storm just through here, no hail but heavy rain on it's tail end. Sheet lightning only.
  20. Large storm over Bridport. Incoming one Seaton next 10 mins. V warm still 17c!
  21. All quiet for past hour, few fork lightning flashes but well to my East. 16c per garden thermometer. Touch and go, but the instability feels less now than earlier. May be the last of it...
  22. Getting smashed here - 1 mile inland from the sea at Seaton. Storm cells merging.
  23. Thunder here in East Devon with hail. Sultry afternoon, mayflay hatch this afternoon on the River Axe = Trout bonanza!
  24. Very light wind, occasional brightness but generally overcast. 11.2c max so far. Not exciting but much needed after the past few weeks onslaught.
