With this cloud cover and slight sea breeze I think we might max out at 22/23. Not bad but not the 35c they'll get at Wimbledon today!

Storm passed through here (Colyton) heading north towards Taunton. Fork lightning and short burst of heavy rain. Hazy sun now but can hear distant rumbles out over the channel. Could be fun. Fresher feel.

Airless, still and v warm night. Then about 30 mins ago a fresh S breeze has kicked in nr coast so can now hopefully get some sleep! Surprisingly gusty out there.

Ground is frozen here near Lyme Regis but it's raining. Snow chance this afternoon/evening though.

Snowed for 10 mins (at 16.10h) at the Donkey Sanctuary on hill above Sidmouth.

And now a squally wind has picked up and the latest heavy shower has a touch of hail. Going to be an interesting day/evening.

Rain started 5 mins ago on Devon/Dorset border. Temp 6c. Wind is completely calm at moment.

Wishful thinking perhaps but the showers seem a bit more hefty looking on the radar and pepping up now over N.Devon coast.

Light showers here this morning. Rain with a touch of sleet but nothing more. Should be a crisp sunny day when these few showers clear. Wind overnight was incredible.

Very mild after the rain here in Colyton. The wind has picked up in past 10 mins and already feels much colder. Good luck lamp post watchers!

More showers here - winds are light and from N. Brighter patches around so hopefully sunny for the post lunch stroll. 5c currently.

Couple of light showers passed through in last 15 mins near Seaton, first one had a hint of sleet. All quiet now. Merry Christmas.

-2.5c low and this was right on the beach at Seaton this morning. Felt strange walking on frozen beach with the dog at 06.30.. Now 0.5c here in Colyton and perfectly still and Sunny. I'm convinced higher points round here will get a dusting of snow before the weekend is out.

Very strong and gusty wind here but heavy rain seems to have pivoted off the coast of Cornwall and Wales now in the firing line.

Reached us now on Devon/Dorset border very heavy rain and the rain band looks to be 70 miles wide and slow moving.

Lyme Regis today was very pleasant. Warm in the sunshine 17c and light breeze. Shirt and shorts weather. Few kite surfers off the cob.

Quite an exceptional night, bands of heavy showers some torrential and long lasting and 17c. Calmer this morning and expect to see sunny intervals at some point.

Can here thunder and see lightning on distance. Looks to be over Honiton area. Feels very warm outside and now raining hear near Seaton.
