I am never convinced with systems coming in from the west, quite often turns out to be sleet or at best wet snow. See what this brings if it hits us, what are your thoughts ?

Think it was gazza, usually mild most years but I just have a little inkling this year will be different, hope I am right.

Assume the warning for the snow is related to this system coming in from the west, think it will be slightly north for me so ice it is.

Don't like all the speculation in the winter thread but the Met O is backtracking slightly about the longevity of the less colder air lasting, I think we are in for a very interesting December. White Christmas anyone?

It is just so still though isn't it, hence the freezing fog, they are very slow moving, edging in to the coast but losing momentum.

Looking interesting isn't it, there's very little onshore wind so it may make some progress, coast is best with this one I think.

Anyone else noticed the latest Met O update, interesting, I have a funny feeling this less colder air later next week may not stick around for long. Moving towards mid December and more generally unsettled and milder conditions look most probable although a return of the colder conditions cannot be ruled out entirely.

Think it will be the sticky out bits who might see some shower activity, Scarborough, Filey, Flamborough etc. Other than that the odd shower may sneak onshore but generally a very cold night to come, very icy I would guess with the snow melt through the day.

Guisborough done well ( snowing again now ) but we are on the very edge of the moors and much much lower so I am sure Castleton and Blakey will be a winter wonderland

Oh no, what's going on, there is a big blob of pink above your house on the radar. Mind the radar is showing sleet here and we had nothing last 30 minutes or so.

Brilliant seabreeze, hopefully NES is seeing some too. Quiet here, got a centimetre on the ground again after the daily melt but expecting a little more.

All dropping below me at the moment, North Yorkshire the sweet spot for this latest batch of showers.

We haven't done bad up here seabreeze, keeps melting a bit then a top up, then melt etc. Think we might be in for an interesting night tonight.

Nice dusting here this morning, had gone slushy last night but obviously froze and a fresh cm on top. Was awoke by the car scrapers at 6.30am, its very very cold. Looks like mild next week if the main thread is to be believed but a nice end to November.
