  1. Kerbstones….. gone. Amber warning justified. Easily a foot, if not more of snow in this part of the city.
  2. Yep, if it keeps it’s intensity. It’s a beefy juggernaut, should add a decent amount to the totals we already have.
  3. It’s like Chasing mild for a change on here, how many times have we looked at the outputs for cold only for it to be pushed back.
  4. Like @The PIT said nice to have a bonus like this, ridiculous that a shower the size of Sheffield got going out of nowhere similar totals as others currently (5cm). Micro climates at work.
  5. It’s pop up events like these that make the set up we’re in unpredictable, dry inland….Sheffield isn’t. Temps aren’t set to recover much during the day could be a very cold night with snow cover.
  6. @bluearmy I believe this image shows a predicted knock on effect of the TPV. Unsure as to whether this has impact on our weather (relative newbie) judging by the lack of traction on the emergence of this I would say not although it might be the fact these events effecting us are rare, therefore no one has a bloody clue. Edit: original tweet any ideas @Kasim Awan
  7. Yep looks like an underplaying of heights, the ecm op was some way an outlier earlier. I’m starting to believe we might actually get a decent white Christmas. Still all to play for.
  8. As a relative newbie, it’s really difficult to keep up with the chopping and changing of the models never mind the in one camp or the other posters. Need to remember at one stage the general consensus of the models circa 144 was some sort of Scandi high pressure. Still a lot to sort out and by no means the end of an entire month.
  9. Nothing round Sheffield (grenoside), radar looks good and the precip is moving slow. Should be an interesting few hours….
  10. To me this blob of activity, is a lot bigger, quicker and more organised than modelled. A long way to travel so may lose intensity but it starting to look like a band of precipitation.
  11. Must be passing through you before it gets to us, blizzard like must have dropped 1cm maybe more in 10 minutes. Some heavy stuff near hull developing too. Just goes to show how things can crop up at short notice in this type of set up and if you find yourself under a streamer it’s quids in time. Brilliant radar watching.
