first shower of the day here.. it's basically rain/sleet and hail mix. There's a downburst of hail and snow towards Wales though. Looks freaky.

In fact I went on a woodland walk. It's lovely in the sunshine today actually.. one of those days that you can appreciate.. clear air, sunshine, and chill in the wind but not to overbearing etc.

Out of the wind and in the sunshine it felt positively Springlike today.

It's not really a mild sector it's just heavy modification by wind from the Irish sea. That's why most of the Midlands will see heavy snow

At least you got a snow shower yestetday :-) I haven't seen one flake at all. Pretty ironic being the highest point in Wirral

Even Halkyn, 300m asl on the other side of the river has rain so there no chance for coastal areas

Parts of the midlands reporting snow now from this band I think. Interesting... it means the rain is a direct consequence of the wind direction and not due to a traditional mild sector

Just got the edge of a larger shower which started as rain and transitioned into hail. It's now moved away.

Drier than a witches foot here. Just need one of these bands to expand so it covers the entire region and allows evaporative cooling near the coast.
