  1. interesting the dewpoint has risen here too to 0.5
  2. Yikes. How unfortunate. I don't just have palm trees in my garden I have cacti too, and you can imagine why that is.
  3. The Heswall snow shield is highly efficient.
  4. Im not sure if I was seeing things, but I'm sure I just saw a flash of lightning from a cell in the direction of Wales.
  5. Maybe its coming... maybe. I should be optimistic. You never know.
  6. We're still getting rain and hail showers oop north. Enjoy the snow
  7. Just 30 minutes ago a shower passed through. It was actually rain but the back edge contained some half melted hail. It doesn't feel that cold I think because dewpoints are not quite low enough yet
  8. Higher parts of Flintshire got hammered before. Halkyn was white
  9. Just watched a heavy shower paste northeast Wales.. as it left it revealed a blanket of white. Here however rain and some hail here
  10. It's raining currently ... that's good news for further inland I suspect
  11. Even Athens gets snow with 850s of -7C with wind off the Aegean sea
  12. Absolute rainfest here in costa del Wirralio
  13. It'll be the heaviest snow they've seen since '63
  14. heavy drifting rain? my commute will be interesting tomorrow morning
  15. dewpoint above 0C now here too..+1.6C dewpoint and +6.8C air temperature with heavy rain showers at times. That makes Perfect sense, since apparently the Wirral snowshield was upgraded to a Tropomatic 500 with state of the art dewpoint lifting technology. Runs on climate change 2.1 software.
  16. Could not make that up. Wirral and it's subtropical rainfest. I'm moving to Greece lol
  17. Mental squall going through. It's all rain of course
  18. I've seen situations where they have died out, even in windy conditions. It's not entirely unusual given fairly low dewpoints for light showers to die a death as they are blown inland, especially convective driven showers. It's a source of frustration. But yes some may make it inland.. we will see. I presume the details will be clearer tomorrow
  19. It's not that they wouldn't be blown inland, it's just that tomorrow night there won't be enough power in the showers to move inland (maybe they wont even make it to the coast).. the Irish Sea as far as can see, won't be producing them at that point in a streamer. I believe firmly it will take until Thursday morning to see those showers properly developing in the Irish sea, as the cold airmass digs in properly over warm water, to start an efficient production of shower cells. Edit: apologies, yes Cumbria could well get some decent showers tomorrow night. I meant further south. A little IMBY apologies.
  20. Indeed.. well this is an interesting feature for tomorrow night, it seems, the showers band together and form a trough over our region.. how far south this gets I'm not sure, but it is fascinating to see.. best looked at now before it disappears with the 18z run update This would be a very interesting feature, and marginality seems to be minimal.. so it's likely widespread snowfall would be likely. Lets see if this little feature is still here come tomorrow.
