  1. as it stands I would say 10-15cm.. I also think there will be an exceptional amount of snow lying on the beach
  2. Even I cannot find a way this snow will not come off. I'm pretty sure we are going to get a major dumping.. even here where we don't normally get it. Also on Saturday night we could get -15 to -20
  3. 18z would see record lows for parts of the region. Certainly my record would be absolutely smashed on Saturday should that occur.
  4. If it happens on Friday.. I might not get to work
  5. I wonder if there is any data corruption in the 12z? The GFS had temperatures at -6C which fell to -16C in the space of 2 hours.. as far as I know even with snow cover this is bordering on impossible in our climate. Furthermore, the day after it rebounds to +2C.. I suspect that's an error rather than a modelling accuracy. Of course if there is errors in the temperature output, potentially there could be errors in precipitation too.. If not errors then a simple over-reading of signals by the GFS
  6. I suspect the GFS is hugely exaggerating everything, from the snow totals to the temperatures. That said, I suspect the GFS has massively undestimated the temperatures tonight. Already -0.3C and dropping still at a rate of -5C/hr. I suspect the -3C forecast will look a bit silly at dawn tomorrow.
  7. Unbelievable drop in temperature at the moment.. falling at an astonishing -6C/hr.. ive never seen a temperature rate like this before! I guess with this in mind, and no wind at all... -7C is fairly likely here! Yes with thunder I believe
  8. Yep 5.2C the maximum today.. falling a little now though 4.3C currently. New Brighton only got 2.1C maximum today.
  9. We live in the NW of England, it's quite clear we will get a rain event. In the mean time it's 3.0C here, and holding steady. I'm slightly perplexed at the -8C the BBC forecast were dishing around for the NW of England.. I very much doubt that.
  10. This is the band that gave us heavy rain over Holland now.. insane.. http://www.webcamvlissingen.nl/
  11. Well there is a chance it may break down at the weekend, but given how strong the block holds across the continent, it's not a given. The High, if it were angled differently could end up giving us hugely contrasted weather to the week ahead, specially if it was to align itself like the 'Bartlett'. That's unlikely though.
  12. Getting the sun cream on now, and pouring the Piña Coladas!
  13. Makes you wonder why there are so many of us.. not like we ever get anything useful!
  14. Still rain here too.. bit more now. Feels more like rain despite the temperatures and dewpoint being lower than earlier.. must be the uppers are more marginal.
  15. Raining proper now.. might just be able to make a rainball soon.
  16. yes yes, Fresh Prince.. out with your camera or I'll get your butler to sort you out
  17. No worries! ps can't believe it's settling on the Fylde coast.. I don't know whether the main band has been located further north, or just hasn;t reached these parts yet..
  18. Nothing here yet, slight drizzle but thats it at the moment
