  1. Well a couple of cms would only be 1.5cm away from the "big one" a week ago so will do for me, not expecting a deluge, just enough for disruption with hilarious consequences - i.e about 0.5mm if London is anything to go by
  2. It is so close to Bognor now, can't be long for you...
  3. Hi Jan, we have had tiny flakes in the wind since I left work in croydon at 6pm - nothing on the radar - and not actually settling of course - too light, but it's keeping me on floodlight watch. Has it just started there or do you think it has been going for a while?
  4. looks like you will get more than me then - mine says, precipitation, very unsettled
  5. temp 1.5 dew -1.2 - was -1.8 at around 6.30. guess it shouldn't rise much during the night, but it always worries me
  6. I feel quite confident of snow here but dew point is slowly creeping up - how depressing will it be to wake up to rain?
  7. I know i am clutching at straws here, but heavier precipitation has appeared in the bottom left hand corner of my netweather radar zoom. the start of the swivel perhaps? i'm so sad aren't i?
  8. But can we have some rush hour chaos first please
  9. seems to have stopped at the isle of wight wall - bugger
  10. Hi, just thought I would pop in to the parallel universe that is the SW discussion to enjoy your snow reports. Any news from Bournemouth - have friends down that way?
  11. precipitation hasn't moved east much on netweather radar since about 2pm - oh hurry up! still v v light snow here
  12. Yes it is funny, but i will say that I don't live that far away either and he is higher up and its nearly always snowing here when he reports it and if it isn't it soon starts. It is just because he reports it in red bold caps  Actually, it is snowing very lightly here in lowercase black normal
  13. Ah yes, you need 2 out of 3 readings for that one...
  14. This one is good if you have your relative humidity reading: http://www.dpcalc.org/
  15. RJM, on 10 January 2010 - 20:11 , said: Thank you Mikel Nimbus for this. So overall 850 uppers of around -8C or less, plus 528 dam or less, plus dew point <0C, plus surface air temp of as close to 0C as possible (up to 2C?) is overall a higher probability for snow Except when it isn't! Watch out for the warm sectors...
  16. lol - it always does snow here too albeit a bit sleety, dewpoint/temp slightly lower now, who knows we could be in for a surprise
  17. Another heavier burst here now, I know it won't settle but am really happy to watch it fall. Temp 1.8 dew 0.3
  18. I have just got back from an afternnoon sleging in Oxted where you wouldn't believe there was any kind of thaw going on. It snowed constantly, sometimes very heavily and I have the bruises to show what a fab afternoon it was. The drive back through Farleigh at around 5pm was great, snow covering the roads again and it wasn't until we drove back into Croydon that I could see the effects of the afternoons thaw. Very happy, at least I made the most of it out there rather than being sad looking out of the window here all day. So when is the next lot due?
  19. flakes slightly larger and more frequent now and it has got darker, feeling more hopeful and off to Oxted again soon for a sledge, any weather reports from over that way - freak blizzards perhaps
  20. If we do get a surprise dumping during the evening, I will be pleased of course, but what a shame as it's back to work tomorrow - I was so looking forward to actually getting snow on a weekend
  21. Is there any small chance that the flow could get stuck from the east like it did from the NE this week?
  22. It's always snowing in Yamkinland not snowing here but was a bit earlier, hoping for a last hurrah later before its all back to normal for a while. Rather sad looking outside now as the pavements and grass are slowly reappeaaring
