  1. Goodbye everyone - see you in another thread another time
  2. Judging by that photo the other day you have had tons already. I was going to drive down this weekend just to look at it
  3. I think we are all going to miss each other when the thread splits - we are like family now <_<
  4. Opened a can of worms now huh? - you can't please all of the people all of the time
  5. That will be all Kent and not much London then Although a N/S split seems like a plan
  6. hmm this thread is looking quite "regional" now - no south Londoners posting - this doesn't bode well, looks like our snow was upgraded and then downgraded yet again. Yet I keep looking here forlornly for a sign that we might get lucky. If I wish hard enough, will it happen - it did for Neilsouth
  7. Snow risk must have receded as the list of users is back at the bottom again
  8. Am I right in thinking that the Met Office orange over the whole of the SE today is a little over the top?
  9. Great pics, it does look very tempting , giving me a taste of whats to come. Given my popsition I think I'll head southwest - I heard they had an inch or 2 out that way :o
  10. Hi Downpour, thnks for the support and words of wisdom, if I start early, there my just be some fresh stuff left for me in Happy Valley (Coulsdon)on Saturday....aAny tips for secret sledging spots near here would be much appreciated...
  11. Moan Alert! Yes, I've got to say, bit of a disappointment around here really. One day of snow, less than Feb 09, then a shower or 2 if we are lucky. I don't feel like this is an exceptional winter for me - last Jan was very cold and dry for a couple of weeks - so no big deal. The weekend looks like a downgrade and I'm just feeling a bit deflated. Surely I can't be the only one here feeling like this. Of course lots of people elsewhere have had a fantastic snow event, pleased for them of course, but am just not feeling the vibe - on a bit of a come down after the last few days excitement. I know things could change in the next couple of days, but it has always been 2/3/4/days away until the big one here. Same old same old..... What happened to the bitter easterlies and all that snow huh? Where is that Thames Streamer Why are the lows dying? Such promise... Would have liked to go sledging on fresh snow but imagine all the school free kids will have left me a muddy ice run by Saturday I should book a skiing holiday shouldn't I? Moan over, thanks for listening....
  12. If you look at the Met Office Invent radar, there is indeed a heavier burst due for around 3pm, they were spot on last night with the arrival of snow just after 9pm so maybe the same will apply today?
  13. Great photo tomavenell, I think it's what we all wanted to see this morning, I'm off for a drive to Haselmere later then!
  14. It has been snowing here in Croydon for a couple of hours but has made no additional depth whatsoever, 9am footprints look just the same and the big bit of tarmac where the car was - well, still tarmac. Temps 0.5, dewpoint just below freezing. This exceptionally cold air we are supposed to have had since new year seems to disappear everytime there is a hint of precipitation. Once the cloud comes over temps and dewpoints rise - I think I can see how this would be the case due to humidity rising, but does it ever stay cold (minus temps)with very low dewpoint (-4ish)and snow?
  15. I find mine is 15mins behind too has been since I subscribed on Sunday - I thought that was how it was, 5 minute refresh always 15 mins behind
  16. Ah yes, snowing here too now just in time for my cycle to work. Seem to be inbetween the 2 bands at the moment but from what I understand, the northery arm will go south during the day. Here's hoping for a few cm more
  17. 4cm here, yes - cm, just did the bin test. Rather disappointing - snowing hard at 4am but there were signs of melting on the car bonnets.
  18. Think a lot of people on here are celebrating with a bottle of something or other - a lot of fuzzy heads in the morning?
  19. If the site goes down again I'll take it as a sign to go to bed
  20. Really massive flakes here now, it looks so good, just such a shame I have to go to work tomorrow, only 2 miles so have to walk, I really should be sledging
  21. Certainly a relief to see those bigger flakes now, I've been holding my breath all evening
  22. But isn't it supposed to pivot now so some of that heavier stuff heads our way?
