In all seriousness, people need to stay indoors for the next few hours, this is quickly becoming a life threatening storm.

Getting really quite bad here on the Essex coast now. Hope everyone is indoors and stays there.

House shaking gust just now on the Essex coast. 12-2pm is going to be awful.

Really picking up in Essex now, just had a gust that shook the house. Still 4 hours or so before the peak.

Final update of the animations this evening. The strong winds on the southern flank are already quite clear, even if the storm doesn't have a particularly distinct form overall.
Can't upload the separate animation for some reason (probably my terrible internet connection), so hopefully the tweet is ok.
Great animation. As the low forms, there’s a distinct southerly move it seems. Not sure if anyone else agrees?

Still too much uncertainty. 18Z GFS has no more than 65mph inland. Terrible inter-model consistency.
Consistent 65mph+ inland is a red all day long for me.

Calm before the storm today, eerily still, told all my friends about it on Instagram, twitter and WhatsApp and bothered a certain someone on WhatsApp the whole day (sorry to them not that they're ever going to see this) but I think it's worth it because they seemed to have no clue about this major storm.
Vast majority of people are oblivious. As long as they can watch Netflix and cook their dinner, it’s business as usual.

Fearing the worst for those folks in coastal areas SE Essex like myself. 80mph+ looks nailed on. Stay safe, this is serious.

Fearing the worst in the estuary/SE Essex around midday. Those coastal towns around where I am benfleet/Southend could be in trouble.

Stay as safe as possible tomorrow guys, preferably tucked up in bed with the windows closed and let this thing blow through

The amount of newcomers to this forum like myself who must take one look and move on must be astonishing.
Like a schoolkids playground.

3 roof tiles gone, near miss on the car + fence gone. And it’s still only 11am.
