suffolk lady replied to Methuselah's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
perhaps markyo hasn't spent much time in england lately to realise how dire the weather has been -
Well lassie23 and other annoyed gardeners seems most of us are having probs growing veg etc apart from weeds, spoke to young local man who has an allotment he said a lot of the growers have lost a lot of plants so its being a difficult growing year and mother nature has been having a good lie in her bed this year. Lets hope she has woken up properly at last.

Had some nice rumbles of thunder and a quick heavy shower earlier. How nice to have gone out for coffee earlier and warm enough to take a jacket of, luckily shower happened just as we got home about 11-15am. Sad news just found out the downed fence is our responsibility also hedgehog is now deceased probably fell foul to one of the local pesky cats got to say it why cant cats be kept in their owners property about time there was a law brought out.

Dry so far today sun and cloud around also a brisk breeze, sounds like we might get a day or so of better temps but rain to spoil the party. Party spoilers seem to be the airlines who are going to double and treble their fares not nice for those who are desperate or foolhardy enough to go for a holiday overseas. Lots of gorgeous places here in the uk to go and visit b**ger keeping up with the joneses

Managed to go out today after the windy days previously which made sitting out having a coffee not appealing, got to Yoxford just after 10am sat with coffee and tea cake with no sun or wind but ok. Left to go to bens market garden at knodishall while driving between there and saxmundham the sky was angry and in the distance we could see sheets of rain falling by the time we reached bens it was an absolute downpour still raining when we got home about 11-15am. At least we had our coffee sat outside while it was dry

Quite an interesting spell of weather at least it has not been boring. Watched tiny finch cling to garden wall then make it to small shrub either foolhardy or brave against hefty wind gusts. Our garden is full of neighbours magnolia blossom petals watched other neighbour out chasing empty bulk gravel sack take off like parachute, as i said not boring weather

Horrible morning grey and blowy, cant decide if snipper has a large tea urn or still in his man cave. My other half has managed to brew without a still so far but every so often talks of making one, moonshiners on tv sets him off. Also smoker rears its head still remember best saucepan used with tea bags and sugar as smoker, saucepan ended on scrap heap and kitchen walls needed repainting, happy days

Bit of a liquorice allsorts day here, frost to start with no wind first thing then sunny with brisk breeze had light rain shower now very cloudy, with the brisk breeze, then to cap it all joy of joys weather warning for tomorrow for strong winds!!! Hope fences and polytunnels portable greenhouses and garden trampolines get well tethered down in peoples gardens. What will happen on may 17th weather gives heatwave and all the places allowed indoor clients ie pubs cafes etc will not need them known as sds law

Had some heavy showers here and sky is black coming this way so another one on the way, really cold wind here as well not a day to be outside. Seems a typical bank holiday weather wise, reckon diy suppliers will do well personally i'm not bothered about sitting outside in pub gardens or cafes when need to be wrapped in blankets, can think of better ways to enjoy myself
