  1. Mainly covered with cloud here and strong wind with beefy gusts, must be chilly/cold out as noticed local hardy folk are well covered up jackets and hats on. Not much joy in the forecast for this weekend either looks like my summery new tops will have to wait for their first wearing, getting tempted to buy fleece gilet in online sale that would be a real bargain if this weather does not improve. Any gardeners must be getting right cheesed off by now, seems the weather is out in sympathy with our wait for restrictions to be lifted. Still worse things happen at sea as the old saying goes, have a good day everyone.
  2. Cool conditions sound rather miserable for may, but the farmers, gardeners etc will be pleased to have some rain as long as we dont get frost when everything is wet. Had a bright afternoon here but cold in the wind luckily our coffee place is quite sheltered by trees and greenhouses which are now used as an antiques cum junk centre.
  3. Sun now showing its face here but still stuck with brisk cold wind. Going out in a while for outdoors coffee so coat socks and warm trousers at the ready, all the new summery tops have yet to get a first wearing. So sad to see oscars which are for all the luvvies seem to take more importance in the news than the state india is in and also the bravery of a young man who drowned trying to save a life. What a weird world we live in!!!
  4. Grey gloomy and cold here missing the nice blue skies which we had for the last few days. Seeing folk walk past with coats and hats on that says it all really.
  5. we had frost again this morning lawn was white at 7-30am, now bright sunshine blue sky and a fresh chilly breezefor st georges day
  6. sounds like you and mrs snipper are having a self sufficiency life style snipper, quick reply to neilsouth dont despair everything comes to those who wait we need the cold to appreciate the warm life is like scales it all balances out in the end. so ends tonight's bit of philosophy.
  7. seems this dry weather is causing lots of activity, builder next door playing with laying paving slabs, snipper going crazy gardening, my hubby busy making plant stand and me and trusty henry getting the hoovering done. Shame temps are down or we could b out under sunshades lazing on lounges saying its to hot to move.
  8. lovely and sunny here but that wretched cold wind is making itself known again unfortunately
  9. just got back from saxmundham oh the joys of tesco shopping! stopped of at hubbys favourite place peggs hardware . Must say i quite enjoy a browse around a hardware shop but sat in car this time, had car door open and with sun shining plus sheltered from the wind enjoyed a few minutes looking at trees and hedges. {must add peggs is in a rural setting}
  10. grey start, sunny now, still got strong cold wind, where have spring temps disappeared to
  11. it really is lovely out but not quite got rid of a chill in the breeze, bb very lucky to have nice neighbours we have some lovely ones as well and one cut our verge lawn patch for us yesterday. bigto all good neighbours everywhere.
  12. foggy start but now gorgeous clear blue sky a little breeze and birds singing. had early morning visitor hubby looked out could make out through the dark movement near our back door, shone the torch and there was a little hedgehog on the lawn. now we think it could be waking him up in the early hours as they can be noisy little critters, looks like im not to blame for his disturbed nights after all.
  13. well what a mixed bunch of messages on here today, flame throwers bread makers singed polytunnels and nearly disasterous bun making, thank goodness the weather seems to have behaved itself
  14. nice day here out this morning for brunch and no cold wind to make outside sitting uncomfortable. Spent this afternoon making fruit buns hope they are ok as i added too much milk to dough mix, silly me, but added extra flour and they are proving at the moment and rising so they will be ok. Must have had a senior moment
  15. Thanks for making me feel guilty bb this sunshine has made my windows look so grubby i've bitten the bullet and been giving some of them a clean, my hubby asked me if i was feeling ok when he saw bucket and cloth in my hand. I keep telling him i have grown out of housework after 50 odd yrs of it i dont need any more practise at it.
  16. Beautiful bright sunny day here, frosty start though and we do have a stiff breeze but good day for bbs washing to dry if well enough to get it done lets hope that is the case
  17. Keep warm bb hope you are not in pain for too long, dont worry about the laundry there is always another day, best wishes and as they say keep your chin up
  18. update to earlier post, still sunny out but in the shade flaming freezing in an icy wind, just got ph book in that had been dumped on doorstep and couldnt shut the door fast enough against the icy blast
  19. Morning everyone, sunny but cloudy as well here we still have a strong wind and no doubt its a cold one. Looks like the weather is taking its time to warm up, heard yesterday the farmers are having a rough time at the moment, one potato farmer said his crop will be delayed for several weeks. Watch out for prices rises on all potato products
  20. sunny here but for all those who miss their hols I just had the below pic sent from family who live in Spain
  21. Good day to you all, lovely bright and breezy day here with nearly a clear blue sky, lovely to look at but unless you are sheltered from that wind very chilly out. I should add that it is quite a gusty wind out watching stuff blowing around so breeze wasnt the right description for the wind.
  22. hello campers hi he hi where is everyone today, cloudy and cold earlier here, now sunny but still cold because of cold wind lots of blue sky here so it looks nice and cheerful out. Hope you are all having a good day
  23. started sunny frosty and bright, now mainly heavy cloud cover with an odd patch of blue, blame cold weather on s*ds law as last wk had summer tops and hubbys lawn mower delivered., he has had a play with new mower as its petrol driven reminds me of episode in the good life tv show where mower was turned into 2 person type of transport, saw that episode recently. That was when life was simpler and maybe more enjoyable, only phone on a plugged in wire lucky even if you had one, as for computers what were those!! few cars so easy parking and stuff we bought we used
  24. flaming freezing, could have done with a polytunnel when at the outdoor cafe, preferably seating only 2 and sound proofed from other customers couldnt find pick of ear muffs.
  25. obviously we had our snow earlier than most others as at 2am this morning heavy snow shower so ive been told by hubby was falling, 7am my time for crawling out from under the duvet no snow but heavy white frost on grass and house roofs. Lovely sunny morning but very chilly so off to get coffee sat outside now open bric brac centre with own cafe, 2 very mouthy hello type daarling women ruined what would have been a nice change as they seemed to think we all wanted to hear about their house hunting [ of course asking £500,00 for wooden shack daarling] some things were better in lockdown ive realised on a cynical note ps hubby also said they were awful so its not me being catty
