  1. Still snowing here. Been slight to moderate all day - coming on 11 1/2 hrs now. Surprising now got the heaviest fall of the day. Temp. -0.7 DP. -3
  2. - 1.6c DP: - 5c Light snow, medium intensity. She's a coming....
  3. Defo moving NW. 30-45 mins and we should be up and running.
  4. When looking t the radar earlier the front looked tome like it was heading towards the Netherlands however hopefully the wind will hop to steer it in a more SE- NW trajectory. Fax below for 12z Sunday supports this: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=charts;type=fax;sess=
  5. Totally agree with that. Damp slushy roads and pavements look so dull and dreary. Love the cold, dry air and the crispy crunch of snow underfoot. The orange haze of tungent light reflecting off the glazed crystallised surface. Back to the radar......
  6. Great news, nice when everyone gets a taster. Think your get a good pasteing Sunday/Monday as it'll be moving up from east to west.
  7. Keep the faith, it's coming....I've got it all crossed for you.
  8. We're in. Just started about 10 mins ago in NW Greater London. Temp. - 1c DP. - 7c Small dry powder falling moderately and has already given a light dusting.
  9. Checking in from the North West of our region. Nothing yet expecting the fun and games to start by around 8am. Here's hoping......
  10. Posted this earlier. Can anyone confirm if correct: Correlation between temps and DP. As a rule of thumb: Add together the Dew point and the temperature = A then if: A > 7 prob. snow is very small A=7 prob. snow = 10% A=6 20% A=5 30% A=4 40% A=3 50% A=2 60% A=1 70% A=0 80% or more
  11. Just came across this while searching info on the correlation between temps and DP. Don't know how reliable it is, maybe one of the more experience members can advise. As a rule of thumb: Add together the Dew point and the temperature = A then if: A > 7 prob. snow is very small A=7 prob. snow = 10% A=6 20% A=5 30% A=4 40% A=3 50% A=2 60% A=1 70% A=0 80% or more
  12. Ha ha ha. Was thinking the same. He couldn't help ending on a slightly milder note though. That's he signature ending.
  13. Currently: Temp. 0.5c DP. - 3c According to radar we should be seeing some action but nothing yet. Think I might be on leading edge and as precipitation is light it's evaporating before it reaches the ground. Will keep you posted of anything more significant.....
  14. Wouldn't worry as these are pre recorded and the situation is changing by the hour. I saw BBC24 at about 12:30 and felt a little underwhelmed shall we say and then as i love torturing myself in these situations got braced for the BBC London local forecast at 1:45 and nearly wet myself.....Quote, 'Moderate to heavy snow fall leading to significant accumulations and more snow to come over the weekend'.....The white speckled graphics chart was like a crack heads wet dream.
  15. Also, is it not possible that with a strong SE wind the band of snow could be enhanced and/or prolonged by convection from the Thames....AkA 'The Thames Streamer!
  16. Must have recorded two this afternoon then coz 6pm was different from 10:35. On 6pm he said snow turning to rain on Sat and turning less cold. This later one, 'Snow might turn sleety'. Anyhow I mean't it in jest, Love u really Petey baby.
  17. Cockcroft Ramp Alert, 'Snow might turn sleety on Saturday'.
