  1. Unexpectedly very windy, my mind was on snow watch not wind watch. No snow here in Grimsby, but apparently snowing down the road and home in Immingham, can't see anything sticking, too wet and not cold enough for starters.
  2. Well hello, haven't posted for well over a year, a few names I still recognise here and many I don't! First signs of something colder on the horizon - tbh my levels of enthusiasm are at rock bottom... what a December it has been, must have been the warmest on record - a really crazy Winter so far. I cannot see much in the way of Snow after this blow torch Winter to date - happy to be proved wrong! My mind quickly thinks back to 2010 which was an exceptional Winter here in Grimsby, described as a 1-30 year event - I am not expecting anything equally wonderous any year soon.
  3. Yeah same, was a little surprised by that.
  4. Good for Grimsby, this really is skimming the coast :/;nothing here since 5.45pm
  5. Well in Immingham where I live there is noticeably less than in Grimsby. I do hope there is more to come because its still been pretty poor in terms of depth which for me at least is what counts!
  6. This heavy snowfall makes queuing in traffic so much more enjoyable!
  7. Yes I agree with the recent posts this Northerly despite the hype has produced diddly squat... its been raining all morning and early afternoon... and yesterday was just as bad... where is the darn snow! The pre-run up to the Northerly - the supposedly not-so-cold part, produced more snow.. incredible!
  8. I get the distinct impression North Lincolnshire has no chance tonight.
  9. Don't you hate that feeling when you open the curtains for the first time in the morning to see that it hasn't snowed a jot since you went to bed?
  10. Heavy snow here, not sleety whatsoever, big flakes. Settling everywhere... what can I say just sweet.
  11. As you cancan see i am up and awake... Already looked outside... Where is the damn snow! Did it even snow at all? Did I dream last night's radar? Arghhhj Disappointed.
  12. Well nothing here yet, was expecting it to have reached here an hour a go, but like the northerly of a few days ago it keeps decaying before it reaches here.
  13. Very brief snowfall here, fot like a minute lol going from the radar earlier we were right on the edge of everything. Started settling mine shamed it didn't last for anything longer than 30 seconds. Pathetic really.
  14. Dew point -1.2, temp 0.4c nearby, according to http://www.realweather.net, local grimsby weather station
  15. Good to see the Dew point below zero, with the radar alternating between red and greengreen its gonna be a case of nowcasting. I have more hope for the North bank, less for the south, i expect that the Humber may mix things out further. Hope not.
  16. Snow Radar looks more encouraging turning progressively red, however the band is disappearing somewhat.
  17. So far this period has been pretty disappointing for Lincolnshire and Eastern England aside from cold temperatures and the odd flurry. It seems the thread is on the cusp of talking about next weekend again and 'what could be' rather than hoped snowfall for the masses this week. I do hope to see some positive news from posters this week, its been ages since we've seen any meaningful snowfall - aka Nov 2010. I hope this Northerly delivers a raging Easterly would be the icing on the cake.
  18. That would be nice to know, haven't seen any local snowfall so far this Winter having missed out on the Boxing Day event which hit nearby Lincoln with a few cms of wet snow.
  19. Lol, spoke too soon it just started snowing, proper flakes too... ug for literally 5 seconds. *sigh* fingers crossed
  20. Yeah, took the dog for a long walk earlier, could see a lot of rain clouds over toward the north bank, seems we stayed dry for somewhat longer. Thought we were missing out on something good cos it 'feels' right conditions for snow.. but actually not!
  21. Great crisp day earlier now we have moderate rainfall here in Immingham.
  22. Well forgetting the long period of cold temperatures that were essentially the talking point of Dec 2010 for most parts of the UK, in my part of the country we saw most likely the highest amount of snowfall, an exceptional 18inch, well over a foot (remembering from top of my head) was recorded. That sure would take a whole lot of beating - and its only 5 years on from what was at the time deemed a 1 in 30 year event. However having said that I truly hope you are right, like most on this forum I love Snow - it brings back the child in all of us + a few days off work ;-)
