  1. Hey, hope everyone is doing well! Haven't been on this page for a while, and I'm glad to see that the 2024 thunderstorm season is kicking off already Good luck to everyone over the next few days, lets hope we get some bangers Also, is anyone else currently tracking the Wareham storm that lit up just now? Impressive how quickly it sprung up on the radar. Lots of lightning present on lightningmaps.org
  2. I should be at school, but they've decided to close until 10:45 this morning after a fatal crash on the M27 westbound - Very sad and traffic is chaotic. This however means I'll be able to track this squall for a little bit. I don't think the heavy parts are going to hit my area until about 13:00. Sadly I'll actually be in school at that time.
  3. Eagle Eye haha fair enough. Risks are below the floor anyway. Thank you
  4. Hey if anyone's still up - my first message of 2024 (i think?) Just had my birthday a few days ago and great to see that the chances for thunderstorms are starting to increase again. I hope something happens tonight, I'll be up for an extra hour or so as our power's gone out for the second time running today. Fun times lol Here's to a storm-filled action packed 2024!
  5. It's been a while! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a great New Year too! Things looking pretty interesting for tonight! Definitely something to watch, but I'm not getting myself too hyped up in case of a massive letdown. Tornado risks are looking interesting too. Good luck to everyone tonight.
  6. Is anyone else having these issues when accessing pages on the Netweather Community site? Edit: Seems to be back now.
  7. Over here the gusts are barely worth considering a storm. It's just a breezy day, nothing out of the ordinary. Didn't even get to see the storms in the channel before they died out! I've got a feeling a lot of people are going to complain about the inaccuracies of the Met or other services... Imo they did a good job as mentioned a few hours ago. The warning impact matrix was more or less bang on.
  8. Decided it's best for me to go off and get some Zs now so night all. Hope you all get some good weather, all the channel convection seems to have died out. If I get woken up, I'll film it. Best of luck to everyone who has school/work later, wish the best for you!!
  9. Where'd all the channel action go? Was looking forward to it. I guess better go to bed now. Not much worth staying up and adding to tomorrows workload! Night everyone
  10. Beginning to get slightly concerned that the storms are moving North too much - Just needs to drift east a little bit for me to be able to see it
  11. Just freed up over 25gb of storage on my phone in preparation for this, lets hope it is a show that fills up that storage fast!!
  12. That's awesome. I want to get into getting my own live weather data sometime, I think it would we quite cool to watch. Thanks!!
  13. That station looks really nice. If you don't mind me asking, how much was it for all the gear?
  14. Wow. You could tell me that this screenshot was in the middle of summer and I'd believe you!
  15. I'm hoping that they'll call school off for you tomorrow morning. Have a chat to your parents about it and see if they think if it's safe or not to go.
  16. Anyone tracking the convection or just me? Looks like Dorset are getting a great show and maybe I might be in for a chance at about 1am. Great thing about no school tomorrow - I can stay up and watch it!!
  17. Some very strong storms moving into Dorset atm, looks like the channel is cooking up a few storms here and there!
  18. Great forecast as usual. Looks like there's more convection than expected!
  19. 980mb pressure on my Barometer. Also do people think that those thunderstorms will survive it's way up? Might be interesting to watch
  20. Sorry for my late reply, just had dinner. I use an app called "WeatherandRadar", and they also have a website www.weatherandradar.co.uk They can and do get stuff wrong every now and again, but from my research they seem to get the highest accuracy. Also as a side note i use Accuweather sometimes, but only for their minute-by-minute forecasts. I never trust any other forecast from them though
  21. It's unlikely that it'll last that long - I've found BBC weather forecasts to be very inaccurate since they left the Met Office.
