Been getting progressively darker to my s/w this last hour, having a look at the lightning radar there seems to be some action near by, hopefully might get stormage happening

Seeing what I believe is heat lightning to my s/w, no thunder I'm assuming it must be the storms over the Shropshire hills atm

So jealous, think I’d settle for some rain down here, it’s like a dust bowl, cracked soil, golden grass (not my lawn )
I know, I feel sorry for anybody who's missed out, not just the storms but anybody desperate for rain and the forecast for the next week looks dry and not a drop around

Main of it has gone to the south of us looking at the lightning maps although I don't complain I've been spoiled for storms the past few days.

Seems to have gone quiet here although it's looking rather dark towards the s/e although looking at the lightning maps I think there decaying storms. Saw one cg bolt from the storm that passed about an hour ago and lots of booming rumbles but must've been very elevated as I didn't see a lot of lightning from it.

on its way to you from the east, a beast this one, never seen such red colours on radar like this
Sounds a lot beefier than the one we had yesterday

Yeah I thought so too but it was very poor for visible lighting. Maybe too elevated to see. The rain was biblical though. Everywhere was flooded within 20 mins. Bit of a let down today over all though in honesty and it’s still so humid.
I think your right with it being elevated as mentioned by other members too. Rain was definitely biblical, the paddling pool in the garden now has a couple of extra inches of water.

Absolutely belting with rain here and quite regular rumbling. Not seen a huge amount of lightning
That's what I noticed too, thought there would've been more lightning given the humidity and the right conditions.

A lot of cc lightning and some good rumbles but not as frequent as I thought they would be, I think the main part of this storm was slightly east of us and not overly photogenic as regards to the lightning but even so its a great start to the season and I'm certainly not complaining

Too far east here I feel, could be a day of storms out to my west, could even see lightning to my west eccy/NW, or Telford SW
Hopefully they might drift more your way too, good chance of them popping up anywhere near

Starting to go really dark to the west, assuming this must be from the storms over Shrewsbury
