my sister lives in Ellesmere and was messaging me about an hour ago saying they've just had a right boomer overhead, I think don't pay attention to any warnings, with the right set up they could pop up almost anywhere

It's sunny here, I never pay attention to apps.
It looked like the sun was going to come out about an hour ago and decided no and now we're back to grey cloud and clag, normally I don't pay attention to apps either but they seem to have it spot on today.

I'm not one for having a moan but what the heck is all this downgrading business, it was forecast to be sunny this week even if slightly cooler than anticipated due to an easterly but now all the BBC have on their app is rain and depressing temperatures. I can deal with it being slightly cooler even though anything above 15c would be nice but its the endless amount of rain. I wish it would do one and let spring begin, I'm desperate to have the first BBQ of the season.

Second on that

1-0 to the Met office for todays forecast, according to the beebs it was supposed to be sunny most of today but after a sunny start it started to cloud over around 9ish this morning and apart from a couple of breaks and the sun trying to come out its mostly been a cloud fest. Temperature wise it hasn't been too bad although 16c would've felt a lot nicer with the sunshine of yeterday and Good Friday.

We must have a really warm house. Must admit had the heating on last night, but no need during the daytime anymore.
Currently 21.5c in the lounge with the window open.
Are you in a new build property, ours is just under 10 years old and is exactly the same. Barely reaches below 18c here at night and only manages 17c on really cold nights, great for energy saving in the winter but a greenhouse in the summer.

Yes I remember these storms very well, awoken at around 2-3ish by loud thunder and heavy rain pelting down, assuming I haven't got my years mixed up. I remember watching the weather after the 10 o clock news and seeing storms forecast for down London way and asking my mum if there was a chance of them coming anywhere near Telford to be told no, proving just how these storms were not well forecast.

lovely photos, great to see animals enjoying this weather as well as us lot, my puss was jumping around like a spring lamb in the back garden yesterday in the deeper drifts loving every minute of it, wasn't too pleased once her paws were frozen and covered in snow, soon made a dash for indoors to thaw off.

Pretty much all thawed here now apart from a few patches on the grass that's been in the shade all day, if it hadn't been for last nights heavy rain it probably would've been a good 20cm or so on the ground, definitely more of a rapid thaw than yesterday despite the rain. Thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely more snow than last year which I believe was none around here, its been good all of us as a regional community on nw keeping one another posted on various locations.

Hoping the schools are closing here too, ours is always the last one to close even in the great snowfall of Dec 17 when all the other schools on our area closed they stayed open till 3:15pm. Was a fun walk with my son in the pram, kept getting stuck every couple of yards

Currently outside since 4:30am, slightly lighter in intensity but hoping it'll pick up again

Morning my lovely Midlanders I can report it is currently chucking down some big flakes over here, was woken up by the cat at 4:30am and first thing I did was look out the window, Its already starting to stick again so hopefully the next few hours bring some good heavy snowfall and it'll look as wintry as yesterday minus the annoying, snow melting rain

Current situation is its raining heavy here now can't that 0c isotherm drop back south again, really hoping its not going to melt it too much, would love a good covering later on to add to it and give us the most epic snowfall we've had since 2018. Or one of the lucky lot (including my area) that saw heavy snow around the 25th Jan 2021 that lasted a good day or two

Please please don't let it turn to rain
