  1. Models seem to be getting more certain for a nasty storm hitting us on Sunday, no doubt named and warnings out for.
  2. Whole cold spell has been underwhelming. I'm glad the Atlantic has been stopped for a couple of weeks and I like cold frosty and sunny days but it's really been nothing special otherwise IMBY.
  3. Ah ok, interesting. Well it's definitely raining here now , just came on quite heavily. Total bust for snow today.
  4. Looks like there's a blob heading in but I wouldn't be confident it's snow here,maybe sleet.
  5. Really? I'm just a bit further south than you and any lying snow is melting now and its a bit drizzly. It's washing the salt I had down on my path away lol.
  6. Weather warnings lately seem off to me locally. We've had periods of wind this year and the bins have been all over the street and had no warnings but had warnings and there's been very little wind. I generally use forecasts as a broad brush and radar/looking out of my window as nowcasting!
  7. Really don't want that storm hitting as modelled on the GFS and ECM this morning, 120mph on the ECM! No thanks! MetO app still had max gusts of 40 IMBY so I'll just believe that for now!
  8. Deeply disappointing so far this morning, snow missing to the south, radar doesn't look like it's hitting here anytime soon either. Even the UKV 3z is way off. we get some later today.
  9. Didn't an SSW ruin spring last year? Beyond a certain point, no thanks.
  10. As long as the schools are still on, WFH with the kids kicking about is
  11. Arpege 12z suddenly has most of the snow missing for the central belt tomorrow morning or coming in later as sleet?. Let's see what the UKV says
  12. What's with the "obsession" on whether the French low will graze the south coast tomorrow? We've already had fairly substantial snow in the north with what looks like disruptive snow heading for the west/central belt tomorrow!
  13. Lovely evening in the south west tonight, cold, crisp with a nice pink sunset. Noticeably lighter too now which has cheered my spirits before the Atlantic enslaught in a week or so.
  14. Not the old hats that watch the models. The 1st to pick out 40c a couple of years ago weeks out. Its good at picking up trends.
  15. Interesting that the MetO app(I know apps aren't that accurate) has the PP forecast for Tuesday in Glasgow as mostly rain and 3C. Certainly not snowmaggedon. Rest of the week looks colder but dry(small chance on Thur of snow)
  16. It's showing west to south west in Glasgow next week! I always thought the apps just showed local ground wind direction which can vary from the general direction which would be north. The wind direction whenever I've looked at them on the MetO app has never really showed it from the general direction the air mass is coming from.
