  1. Yeah, i remember that now, watching it forecast to run right into the UK and it the end it was pretty far south of the block. Tbh it wouldnt surprise me if that happened here again, just have to wait and see.
  2. Wasn't that what happened last Dec to end it iirc or did that one end up sliding under the block?
  3. Personally speaking, we get snow nearly every year at some point anyway, in fact for me, it's more disruptive with work, kids at school etc. I'd rather have freezing and sunny winter days like last December which was lovely.
  4. Well, that was unexpectedly wild last night/this morning. Perhaps a yellow warning should've been issued, certainly the worst winds we've had locally this year.
  5. I'd hazard a guess that most of us are quite realistic and pessimistic about the chances of this actually happening anyway. I think most of us would still be quite shocked at these synoptics playing out.
  6. The last thing they want to do is be quatied by all the click bait papers. They usually take the conservative route.
  7. Constantly checking the models and replies on here, so addictive!
  8. Didn't the same happen in July in that the expected didn't happen? Perhaps we just don't fully understand the mechanisms in play? If of course the blocking comes to fruition.
  9. Would be very happy with colder and dry and an end to the rain, plenty of time for the real winter goods.
  10. Looking good again. Nice Scandi high for the start of Dec too.
  11. Im old enough to remember the July outlook being warm and sunny or periods of very hot weather, Atlantic troughs and Euro highs pushing heat up to the UK. Turned out to be cold and miserable in the main. While the long term forecasts are great and certainly to be looked at, I've learned not to put too much faith in them. Who knows what Dec will bring?!
