  1. It’s hammering down with rain here in Sevenoaks. And it’s very windy too. No sign of any snow and it doesn’t feel cold enough either.
  2. Nothing exciting about the weather here today. After the excitement of yesterday’s snow, I’d happily see a return to the fools spring we had a few weeks ago.
  3. My met office app has just updated to 5 hours of continuous heavy snow from 12pm. And yet, the fallen snow is now melting and slushy.
  4. 50p sized flakes here, it’s coming down surprisingly heavy. Must be an inch of snow on the patio table.
  5. Just got up for a coffee, and looked outside - we have 2 centimetres of fresh lying snow, and it’s still snowing. Looks very peaceful out there.
  6. Regardless of stats, I’ve always viewed the UKMO as solid and conservative - If this model flips to a milder forecast in the coming days, then it’s game over for any cold.
  7. Around 1pm, I witnessed 4 people in a neighbourhood garden who were wrapped up in coats, hats, scarves and gloves eating their lunch, while it was snowing (albeit lightly) - I am guessing they were respecting the current covid 19 rules.
  8. Sadly, the forum lost its focus and became a spamming ground for wind merchants, rather than a forum for weather enthusiasts - I suspect that’s why it was shut down and it would have been a full time job to moderate. Nick Sussex (who I think lived on the South Downs back then) and Steve Murr both used to post.
  9. It was Bill Farkin who said Nuff Said and talked about his Grebes. Made out that he lived in otford, Kent, just down the road from me. One year Bill kept saying he had a big forecast to release, and then after counting down the days, he said nothing would happen and just continued to post he was laughing. Wind up merchant, who then became Phil Barkin. (This post will be deleted by the mods very soon)
  10. The last time I remember falling snow this early in the winter season was Dec 2012. The current models also have a similar look to Dec 2012. January and March 2013 were both excellent winter months, and although I’m not expecting an exact repeat this winter, I am confident of a couple of decent cold and snowy spells. I think New Year or just after will be snowy.
  11. It is, hard to fathom - if it wasn’t so early in the season, I’d be very disappointed missing out. We had rain here in Sevenoaks. Just rain.
  12. Heavy rain here in Sevenoaks - be amazed if we saw a snowflake here.
  13. The heavy rain has turned to snow. Not the heaviest, but great to see, nonetheless.
  14. The accuweather app on my mobile phone says 1-3 cm of snow tomorrow morning, between 10am - 12pm.
  15. Very fine sleet here. 1/10 on the Murr scale. Doubt I’ll be sledging today.
  16. We have a wintry mix here now in Sevenoaks - reckon we had 2 cm until about 4am, but since then much of it has melted. Better than nothing, although I was expecting / hoping for 5 cm.
  17. I’ve really enjoyed watching the snow falling, although I prefer snow to be dryer / powdery than this. Uppers are very marginal
