  1. Still sleeting here. Got an inch on the grass, but seems to be melting on pavement and cars
  2. Snowing & settling here. I'm happy now for the rest of winter!!
  3. Just logged in to see that I've a member since March 2005 - where did all that time go?
  4. i used to work in Locksbottom and thought it faired quite well for snow. I walk our dog at High Elms near Locksbottom and that's seems to do really well for snow, the other Sunday morning being a prime example.
  5. I suspect the snow line will be there tomorrow. I always notice it just before the corner at Star Hill. About 8 /9 years ago, I drove back from Bromley and it was snowing heavily in Badgers mount / Halstead and quickly setting, but I when I got to the bottom of Polhill, it was just rain. No sign of snow at all.
  6. I used to live in Halstead 15 years ago, now I live just outside Sevenoaks. You can see actually see the snowline when driving up Star Hill to Knockholt / Halstead. The extra 250 feet makes a huge snow difference in marginal situations.
  7. its difficult to comment on all of the model output, when it's behaved in such an unpredictable manner for well over 5 days. It's been a bit of a lottery as to what might appear next. A watered down solution to the UKMO was always probable without the back up from the other models, although I have to say that the UKMO has performed well without the fluctuations of others . Based on the current unpredictability and the attempted FI height rising, I suspect (gut feeling) an eventual snowy cold spell around the 1st / 2nd week of February. Not a Feb 2009 affair; a northerly with less snow. I favour a weak Greenland rather than a Scandinavian high. Better than the 5 days to come, but far from epic. Others (elsewhere) have mentioned that early March will deliver the goods; I think it's very possible. El Niño has pushed our winter back circa 6'weeks. cheers
  8. Well I'm sure the pub run will resolve everything. T168 will be perfectly nailed and verified by the 18z - lol! I always view the models but rarely post. I have to say that I can't remember viewing such model disagreement over such a long period, which is why I am commenting. The normal roller coaster ride would have been finished by now. I'd love the UKMO to be right as I'm a cold lover and mighty proud of our little United Kingdom, but I feel a mixed solution is the likely outcome. GFS and ECM continue to dispute the UKMO, pushing the block of cold east. Trending milder next week I suspect, albeit that will be average temperatures. Hoping for some deep cold and snow later this month or next. Chin up all, it's just the weather. Cheers
  9. Good snow here. To wet too settle as the ground is too warm. Seen more flakes already this winter than last year, not that it's even winter yet.
  10. We did have a heavy flurry not long after I complained about the rain. Lovely to see, no settling though.
  11. All the snow has melted now. Fingers crossed for some more over the next couple of days. Looks like it will dry for the rest of the day here.
  12. I'm really surprised, we've just a 1cm covering. I thought we were going to miss out again. Snowing very lightly here. Must not forget to feed the birds today.
