  1. Summer8906 July 2013 had a lot mornings that had North Sea cloud, but obviously followed by warm and sunny days. As for August, perhaps 2005 or 2007 (2005 was average in the East but very sunny in the West)
  2. Met. Warm and sunny in November would be a dream. I can imagine it will happen one day, as it happened in February before (We all know which February Im referring to)
  3. Summer8906 March had 10 days that I would class as spring-like (3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 29th and 30th)
  4. I wonder if the second half of this May would be a 2023 repeat???
  5. May so far has been a bit like May 2008 in my area. Hoping this doesnt lead to a washout final week like what May 2008 went off and produced, making the month wetter and duller than average You can put the first 12 days of May 2024 and the last 19 days of May 2023 together to get an absolute classic
  6. Summer8906 I think August will be the best month of the summer, being very dry and very sunny but temperatures only slightly above average. June and July probably average on all parameters
  7. This May is turning out a bit like a May equivalent of August 2012. I say that because August 2012 was an improvement over the dire first half to summer, as is May so far an improvement over the poor first half of spring. For that, we would need more than just one short fine spell and the rest of the month a washout though
  8. February 2013 a possible contender???? It was only W-ly for the first 4 days, then became N-ly and E-ly for the rest of the month (Alternating periods of cold North Sea cloud and Less-cold sunny conditions). Perhaps 7th February - 6th March 2013 would be a completely Atlantic-Free month
  9. If May 2024 ends up wetter than average, but also warmer and sunnier than average, then I will say this was a good month
  10. A decent start to May in my area. A bit on the cloudy side, but mostly warm and dry (except the 3rd). Different in other areas though A bit like a May 2008 redux, just hopefully without a washout final third
  11. North Sea cloud was prevalent in the first 20 days of June 2018, so the winds were probably NE-ly June 2023 perhaps, with no Westerlies until the 26th. NE-ly or E-ly winds until the 8th, then SE-ly or S-ly until the 25th
  12. SunSean Its stunning in my area. I am feeling so generous rn, I will mail you some of todays sunshine. Just tell the weather gods that my gift is your wildcard
  13. Summer8906 Unless we get a June 2012 and July 2023, then it will turn to 0 months
  14. Summer8906 Worst thing is that most eternal autumns that last through winter abruptly end around the March equinox. Not this year, it went off to produce a dull and wet April, and still more rain to come in the next few days. Late-May is the new late-March
  15. SunSean April 2024 was poor, but not as dire as you make it out to be. You must have not experienced April 2012, which is miles worse than this April. April 2018 was also utterly dire (Worse than 2012) outside of that hot spell mid-month In my area, the sunniest day in April 2008 was a measly 7.5 hours
  16. Realistically, we are getting an anti-May 2020 followed by an anti-June 2023, then July 2023 all over again followed by an August 1912. The promised fine weather we will get this month will turn into a Storm Babet redux and there will be a few 50mm washout days. Tomorrow is our only taste of sunshine for the rest of the year, then its grey, wet, cold, grey, wet, cold. grey, wet, cold and grey, wet, cold again Why???? Because the weather gods hate us
  17. SunnyG I am only interested in rain if it is over 20mm/hour and/or part of thunderstorm
  18. March 2022 seen several days above 18c and wall-to-wall sunshine just after the equinox, then the last three days were dramatically colder and the 31st had snow showers on and off all day. Most extreme examples are the warm ends to March 2012 and 2021 followed by the cold and snowy starts to their respective Aprils
  19. When was the last time we had a spring-like June???
  20. Question : What is your favourite wind direction weather wise??? Mine is probably SE'lies
  21. WYorksWeather May looks to be getting off to a good start. Cloudy morning, Sunny days. This reminds me of May 2023
  22. SunSean I wonder if days like June 18th or September 30th will be dry and sunny this year?? As for March, if only we could have swapped March 24th and 25th around, continuing the sunny trend for March 25th. Though I suspect March 24th is also another bright day on average
  23. SummerShower Nah, it will be an August 1912. The weather gods would be ready to pull their evilest trick by late-July. Then an extremely wet and dull Autumn that makes 2000 and 2019 look good in comparison and a repeat of December just gone but without that cold and snowy start
  24. SunSean I was shocked to see an overcast day on my birthday (March 25th) this year. Even last years stinker March managed to bring a good half-day of sunshine on that day, and in 2016-2022 it was wall-to-wall sunshine every year
  25. Lee Notts Oh no. We WILL be getting another July 2023 this year, I just know it. But this time, we will have a May 2021 and June 2012 preceding it instead, and there is absolutely no escaping that
