  1. Catbrainz About a 4/10 for March. Only got 86 hours of sunshine this month, but the second half was average (67 hours). Perhaps the dull spell of the 10th-14th stank this month out, whereas the rest of it was OK although it rained on my birthday sadly (March 25th). It was a wet March, but didnt really feel that wet (Maybe due to the awful period in the first 2 days and the rain from the 10th-17th)
  2. SunSean Depends when that stuck up Greenland High stops, if its before the 7th, then we might have a chance of some decent spring weather afterwards. Im craving a North Sea high right now
  3. SunSean April 7th locally. You mgiht be lucky to see lots of sunshine on Tuesday though. Hoping April 7th means the end of the grey gloom for good. Perhaps the April equivalent of August 2023???
  4. Summer8906 I find SW-lies in April are often anticyclonic, so the putrid dull, damp, mild SW-lies through the whole of April would be a shocker Perhaps an April like 2005??? Washout start, then an OK last 3 weeks
  5. B87 An April 2021 in June would translate to late-May/early-June 2023, perhaps with less North Sea murk
  6. raz.org.rain A similar affair to today or 18th/19th March would do. Improved from rain all day to spring sunshine
  7. SunSean I dont hate low pressure now. Why????? The wet second half of March has felt spring-like If only last Sundays glorious weather was the day after (My birthday), instead of it raining on my birthday for the first time in a decade
  8. I love it when a forecast goes from rain all day to cloudy. I hope the 4th/5th April forecast goes the same way as 18th March did this year. One time it was meant to rain all day and it turned out to be quite a nice spring day instead
  9. It would be interesting if March-June 2021 synoptics happened in May-August. This will mean a record breaking heat spike + thunderstorms around the late-May Bank Holiday, then a June that defines "perfect" - Abundant sunshine all month, chilly nights and average days. It will mean a poor July though, but a thundery one and the better weather towards the school holidays (Perhaps more preferable than July 2023), then a glorious first 17 days of August (A poor second half however). The highest temperature of the year would likely be in late-May, but 30c reached many times in the first half of August May = March 2021 June = April 2021 July = May 2021 August = June 2021
  10. reef Your lucky it wasnt the day after. 31st March 2012 was a cold, cloudy North Sea muck day
  11. SunSean This day back in 2012 would have been my saddest of the year. Watching that fine, sunny weather fade into such an abomination for April and the first half of May
  12. I am disgusted with whats being forecasted in the first week of April. Non-stop rain from the 3rd onwards, and no sunshine at all. I feel sick
  13. danm November probably, but a high will bring never ending stratus cloud lasting the entire month with zero breaks at all, and both day and night temperatures will be at 12c the whole month with no variation at all. Every month until then will be a washout im afraid
  14. It would be nice to have late-March/April 2021s synoptics occur in late-May/June. A record 33c day just after the Bank Holiday, followed by weeks of chilly nights and average days, and endless wall-to-wall sunshine throughout June. It might lead to a July 2023 (or July version of May 2021) afterwards though
  15. Hoping for an April version of that August heatwave. Perhaps second week???
  16. As unsettled as the second half of March has been, its been reasonably sunny since the 15th (56 hours as of today, which is roughly average for a 2-week spell in March). Maybe if early-April sees a similar affair, maybe perhaps less rainfall, I wouldnt mind it
  17. Wednesday 3 Apr - Friday 12 Apr The ongoing unsettled spell of weather seems likely to continue through the first few weeks of April. Initially, the heaviest and most frequent spells of rain and showers are likely to be across southern parts of the UK, with drier brighter and colder conditions dominating further north. However, by the end of next week all parts are likely to have some rain or showers. As this transition takes place in the north, some snow is possible for a time. Overall, temperatures near or above average, although rather cold with night frost at first in the north. Often windy, especially in the south and west. Towards mid-month, the very unsettled weather may begin to ease, with some drier interludes probably developing. Perhaps the first half of April even worse than 2018??
  18. Autumn, but that is solely due to a bone dry but completely sunless November, with the max and min temperature staying at 11c the whole month with no deviation at all. Just a big status cloud with occasional drizzle every single day. September and October still being wet, with persistant drizzle the whole of both months and non-stop grey skies therefore rainfall will only be 120% of average for those months. December will then be a complete washout with rain, wind and grey skies every single day April - August being complete washouts and completely devoid of any warmth or sunshine. It will mean 7 consecutive months of rainfall over 200% of average, and January will be the sunniest month of the year (Unless this March beats that)
  19. Summer8906 According to Met Office, the first 4 days of April are looking dry, cold and cloudy with winds from the E half
  20. Should I say the only silver lining about he first few days of April is that the winds will be Easterly rather than the dreadful Southwesterly. We might get a surprise early-June 2023 style spell for April
  21. TheOgre You got January wrong, as there wasnt really any snow nor was it that wet after the first few days. You are spot on for February, and you got the last third of March wrong too. But your prediction was the closest I seen
  22. TheOgre Can a June 2012 follow that please, but without that exciting thunderstorm at the end????
  23. Im putting March 2024 around a 4 or 5/10 in terms of rating. Not as bad as last March, and felt brighter and more spring-like even though sunshine totals were poor
  24. Lets have a repeat of early-April 2023. Not always warm nor dry, but 5 of the first 9 days were clear
  25. The first time in rained on my birthday today in 10 years. At least the afternoon was dry although rather overcast. Felt more February-like rather than Autumnal, with the SE winds rather than SW So many news headlines are saying Easter could be a washout. Reality is some showers and sunny spells on Good Friday and Saturday, and looking like Easter Sunday could be a dry and bright E'ly day. When they say "washout", doesn't that translate to band after band of rain or a Storm Babet repeat????
