  1. My birthday is tomorrow and for it to rain all day is as shocking as Dark Sunday is. I'm used to sunshine on my birthday, not washouts
  2. CryoraptorA303 March 2024 was basically February 2024s twin so far, but I wouldnt put this March as bad as last March
  3. CryoraptorA303 3rd December 2023 - 2nd January 2024 registered 200mm of rain. Horrific totals. I agree January was actually a decent one after that. I wonder if the non stop zonal pattern will continue into April making it another washout month, perhaps even wetter and duller than April 2012
  4. cheese What about January??? That was bang on average for rainfall
  5. If you was to have the following for March/April, what would you choose A. An extension of winter B. An eternal autumn
  6. Oooooh I love mild, dull and wet weather so I would choose March 2023 to February 2024, but replace the May and June with 1983 and 2012 respectively, and have a first half of September swapped with 2008 Joking, I want a 2022 repeat. Loved every minute of it bar February, September and November
  7. Summer8906 November 2021 was too bright and interesting for a weather gods liking. Something like a dry version of November 2015. And while we are at it, lets have a December 2015 to add more misery
  8. Summer8906 Not even that. We will get our dry spell though, in November. That dry spell will bring in zero sunshine at all for three weeks. Before then, lets endure an April 2012, May 2021, June 2012, July 1988, August 1912, September 1994 and October 2000
  9. This March has been a bit like 2005 so far - Cloudy and Changeable, with a cold start and warm just before the equinox followed by colder again
  10. In Absence of True Seasons We havent had a really sunny September since 2003 (Above 140% of average), most have been average or marginally above. As for May, the only really sunny ones were in the last few years (2018, 2020 and 2023 in Western areas), and before 2018, most were average or a little below. April is the only one really bringing annual totals up, and January is often lifting our winters totals too (2024 the obvious example, and 2022)
  11. CryoraptorA303 Would love an April version of Feb 2023. I would even have a May/June version of March/April 2023 as long as it leads onto a July/August version of May/June 2023 Summer8906 I wonder how early spring flowering would end if we had an anti-2013 (January to May)
  12. Im thinking April will be like an April version of March 2006. A very sunny first third with E winds (Temps near average instead of below), then 2 weeks of cold, dry and mostly cloudy weather (from NE winds) followed by a pretty warm and changeable last week (warm and sunny 27th/28th with 20c seen) I say the first third of April will be sunny because March looks like it could end quite dull and we havent had much sunshine since mid-January
  13. You gotta be kidding me. Rain on my birthday, which is next Monday!!!!! Its an Easterly too, so it could be a day identical to Mothers Day (or it can go the other way round and be sunny)
  14. Summer 2014 is overrated mainly due to the August being poor. June was also pretty poor up in East Yorkshire for sunshine, and just average for me. July was the only "good" month of that summer
  15. CryoraptorA303 The "Sunshine and showers" for Friday and Saturday next week would still be unacceptable
  16. That would just make flooding worse and its already pretty bad right now The winds looks to be veering Northerly then Easterly by next Monday (25th) according to many forecasts, so hoping the Easterly just hangs on
  17. Tommorow looks pleasing. Tuesday meh. Wednesday and Thursday terrible. Friday meh. Saturday bad. Perhaps decent from next Sunday onwards?????
  18. Looking like a decent spring day tomorrow, something March 2023 didnt have. So far, there have only been 28 hours here in the first 16 days, but at least March 2024 would have a little bit more sunshine than March 2023 reef Surprised 2023 and 2006 arent in that list
  19. B87 DIdnt March 2005 record less than 80 hours too
  20. Sun Chaser Wouldnt write off March 2024 just yet. Depend on how much sunshine we get in the second half
  21. reef Not had a clear day since January 26th. February 24th was the "closest" to a clear day but that seen clouds here and there from noon onwards Before then, we actually had a lot of clear days in November
  22. Fridays forecast looks like the kind of day we would expect from Easterlies at this time of year. Warm-ish, Sunny, Windy after a Cloudy morning
  23. Freeze Im talking about this time of year
  24. Met Office is now forecasting a load of bullcrap in their 2 week forecast. They are going from the rest of the month being dry, to just 2 days being dry and the rest of March probably being a washout Do we ever get warm and sunny NW-ly's like we sometimes do for Easterlies???? Maybe Friday could be the closet to one
  25. Only 23 hours of sunshine in the first 15 days of this month. Thats the exact same as March 2023's first half
