  1. damianslaw Oddly enough I live near to that isolated brown patch in the Rutland area on that anomaly map and that makes sense because I recorded 36mm for this month so not very wet here at all but countrywide for sun and dry weather lovers it has been hideous seeing Aprils tend to be decent.
  2. Very small but sharp shower has kicked off south of Bedford, not sure if it will produce lightning though
  3. Yet another wet month bagged, Spring 2024 pretty much guaranteed to be wetter/much wetter than average unless May 2024 is remarkably dry which I can't see happening
  4. Yep definitely feeling summer like here, clouds are starting to bubble up, humidity is building. As other members have said, someone is going to get a humdinger of a storm, it's a case of luck in this instance.
  5. Absolutely stunning day here, warm sunshine, very light to no breeze and not a cloud in the sky and even the possibility of a few storms in the next few days. Good stuff.
  6. Same here, can't get access to the radar. It would be bloody typical if we get a proper storm event the only time the radar is down
  7. ukv looking absolutely fantastic for storm lovers on the isle of wight and indeed the majority of the south coast west of London, for the majority I think it'll be dry. This event is gonna be a far south event me thinks.
  8. Alderc 2.0 I respect your preference of that absurd temperature and I ain't gonna guilt trip you but I am not sure how anyone can want mid 40's anywhere let alone in this country, I'd rather have 12 months of rain tbh but that's just me
  9. 13.3 and 21mm, perhaps me being a bit too over the top in terms of dryness but it has to flip some time and when it does it is usually instant for example the record wet February 2020 and the very dry, sunny spring that followed it.
  10. Latest ukv looking juicy for potential storms for those in the area around Birmingham on Thursday 2nd May, slightly too far south and west for me (highly unlikely to verify like that anyways) but something to keep an eye on for sure.
  11. CryoraptorA303 One day, two days that's immaterial, I am stating that the weather is variable as we all know and although it may seem certain weather patterns go on and on and on, they come to end eventually.
  12. Azazel I wouldn't say it's an argument, more of a civilised debate I would say
  13. In Absence of True Seasons It's hardly 10C and thick cloud all year round is it? Yes it hasn't exactly been Costa De Sol for a good portion of 2023 and most of this year but remember summer 2022 when it was clear skies and on two days we breached 40C for the first time? Without meaning to sound rude, you're maybe being a bit dramatic
  14. Snowy L I get that, obviously people aren't happy as this spring is poor following a bad winter.
  15. Snowy L Hardly tragic mate is it, tragic would be your family getting killed in a road accident. We've had numerous decent springs on the trot so I think a number of crap springs on the trot was bound to occur.
  16. TwisterGirl81 I know, it is irritating but that's life, one year we'll get a snowy winter and a spring like spring. Fingers crossed
  17. TwisterGirl81 And you've had two springs or more that have been decent in terms of sun and felt warm. I love the sun myself but I'm just stating the weather can't be pitch perfect 24/7. We had a long run of drier and sunny springs before this spring and last year so we were bound to get a few poor springs on the trot, if the weather was the same constantly, we wouldn't be here would we
  18. In Absence of True Seasons "I can't recall a properly dry, cool and sunny summer" About time we got one eh lol but as I said to Sunny, weather isn't controllable so nature will be nature whether we like it or not.
  19. SunnyG It can't be perfect every year can it, no point in moaning because the weather is uncontrollable (thankfully). Eventually we'll get a spring 2020, a summer 2018 etc. Hang in there.
  20. CryoraptorA303 I agree, people have got to accept that the weather isn't gonna be hot and tropical all year around as this is the UK not Hawaii. People also forget we're on the east coast of the Atlantic which is as we all know very wild.
  21. In Absence of True Seasons Cool but dry, a combination we haven't really seen since summer 2001, remember cool/cold doesn't feel cool/cold when it is summer (if it's dry), just means that there is no sleepless nights and uncomfortable humidity.
  22. I would love it to be a cooler than average summer this year as we've not seen a below average CET summer since 2015, bring on the cold baby, that way there is more chance of my grass staying green all summer (like last year, only however because it was wet)
  23. The fact that some of the charts are showing a full on northerly in May is hilarious to me, I want to see how bad nature can make it just to wind everyone up
