  1. I am in the middle of that lot there spreading north east, hopefully I'll get my first thunderstorm of 2024 if the ingredients are all there added with a good ole bit of Irish luck
  2. Looking at the latest ukv, it shows some rather beefy showers tomorrow afternoon, any thundery potential perhaps? We'll see
  3. Wow 100mm+ for most of the country on the gfs tonight, the wet weather continues and let's keep it civil guys because arguing is something children do.
  4. Had a bit of hail today, nothing too heavy mind but it hails (pardon the pun) the start of the convective season. Bring it on.
  5. Did my second mow of the year yesterday, looks like a classic day of spring sun and showers, one of my favourite types of weather, hopefully some of them turn thundery.
  6. Had some pretty decent thunderstorms last year, hopefully it will be good again this year and better for those who had a bad season.
  7. I shall be keeping an eye on that feature, if it develops electrics or not, that is rain worth watching given the echoes being shown.
  8. I really enjoy snow but the last time we had a decent amount was 3 years ago so I'd have to say snow on the basis it is getting as rare as walking trees (no other reason)
  9. Yep the SSW will induce a block to form to our north giving us a cold air source, I think we can rule out any chance of 20C being reached or breached this March which I personally think is good, the weather in this country is breaking too many warm records as it is.
  10. Ouch stomach bugs are the worst, just hideous.
  11. Sun Chaser Yes it has been very dull and quite wet at times but I don't think overall countrywide is as quite as wet as last March up to this point, some places will be in dark blue shades on the met office anomaly map though I can be sure of that
  12. Some quite lively showers about, including a thundery just south of Milton Keynes just know, this is what spring should be like, sunny spells and showers not dull damp washouts. Hopefully we see a classic April this year (April showers)
  13. Can't really remember summer 2007 because I was about 4 but looking at the met office anomaly maps, in regards to temperature and rainfall they both complimented each other pretty well tbh. 2012 had some cracking thunderstorms I know that.
  14. Summers since 2001 actually have been slightly wetter than usual on the basis of the "met office anomaly maps" 13 have been wet and 10 dry so that should tell us something.
  15. I have had 23mm so far in my location this month so not too bad compared to some in the SE but we aren't even half way through the month yet so the totals are likely to build (not that we need them right now) So this March won't be quite as wet as February but not dry either, average for my location I am guessing and yet again milder than average
  16. Depends on the weather from the previous 9 months tbh, if it was a dry winter, followed by a dry, warm spring and a scorching summer beforehand, then I reckon 37-40 degrees would be possible. I would put money on 37.5C.
  17. WYorksWeather Seems to me rainfall is increasing in every season, obviously much less so in summer but that's to be expected really with the air becoming warmer and warmer and as we all know warmer air holds more moisture so we have to adapt to being an ever increasing wet country.
  18. WYorksWeather They never will because anyone in that ludicrous height of heat would instantly melt
  19. These past three winters snow-wise have been just atrocious for snow, in my location I would say I have seen 3cm max over the 3 winters put together. This past winter has been better than the last two however in regards to storms and rain. I love the rain and the amount of storms also gave this winter some excitement for me personally. Let's hope 2024/25 can deliver the winter wonderland we all crave for.
  20. In Absence of True Seasons Given how much rain, dampness and greyness there has been this last 6 months or so, 40 degrees this summer I'd say is very unlikely.
  21. kold weather I would say the high 40's would be at the very very top end of what is possible. 43C is more than possible if the synoptics are right, it was quite a short burst of heat in that spell in 2022 if I remember right so could you imagine what we could've got if the heatwave lasted longer. The fact a couple of runs albeit extreme showed the possibility of 44C tells you something, if the world carries on like this, we are in for a bad time.
  22. LetItSnow! I agree, I can think of many very wet months in the 2020's so far, February 2020, October 2020, December 2020 and lots more since then.
  23. As others have commented, we seem to have either very wet or very dry spells, there doesn't seem to be anything in the middle. 2022 was very dry and there was a 'worryingly dry' thread and people were getting worried that we'd have a situation like 76, now we have the complete opposite, eventually the tide will turn again 100%, the question is when.
  24. I can only imagine the depression and frustration on here if we end up with an April 2012 and a summer 2012 God almighty
