Anyone else watching that front over Northern France? Won't come to anything but it's edging North.
Won't make it far probably fizzle out

I gotta say it's looking quite poor guys

Of course nothing can be ruled out next week, its been a tough few days model watching for sure. Interesting how metoffice have been lowering max temperatures every day since monday, indeed whats looking more nailed on now is some snow showers affecting areas exposed to the northerly. Im hoping the pembrokeshire dangler gets into full swing, its delivered quite large amounts before in the past, its however not good for east wales.

I can tell why people are not happy in the mad thread, it looks likely now that the low will push into france and skirt the far south of the uk next week, thereafter it does at this stage, look likely that winds will turn more southerly by next weekend in the south but this is changing every hour

hi folks - sorry i havent been about much but have been dealing with something wise and also been seriously ill with pneumonia - can see the potential for next week for Wales snowise - i'm sure it'll happen and enjoyed the flakes we had monday night
Hi Andy great to see you I hope your on the mend mate, it was lovely to see those flakes Monday. Let's hope we have a decent snowy spell next week.
-
Next weeks forecasted temperatures slowly creeping down on the metoffice website 5-6C. BBC showing 6-8C for south wales next week
Come back Andy, we love you

It will probably be the coldest day of the week here. Currently 0.6°C and winds gusting to around 25mph making it feel more like -4°C
-
So we've had the very slightest dusting of snow here, wind has picked up a bit. Temperature 0.5C feels alot colder. Such a shame all that heavier precipitation is in the English channel but seems like some places have done quite well especially considering these showers originated from the north sea

I'd say for swansea very small chance and anything that falls will be a light flurry, all depends on wind direction, and how much cloud cover we are actually going to get. Most likely to see something further east of the beacons. Nothing worth getting excited over thats for sure

Parts of Lapland up to 0-1°C on tuesday 9th , 32 degrees warmer!, before a sharp drop again by the end of next week, madness!

It's funny how people in the MAD thread are comparing this upcoming cold spell to 1987, 2010, 2018 etc. No cold spell is the same. I never understood getting excited about charts 200+hours out either ,learnt my lesson on doing that a very long time ago.

Anything drier and more settled with some colder conditions will be better than this muck we have had for months now

Another crazy few hours of weather coming up for tomorrow, im not sure what to make of what will happen going into the new year in regards to cold weather. Still all a bit unclear right now in the models thread. Theres definitely some very very cold air bottled up further north into norway/sweden and finland.

Finnish metoffice is going for -32°C in Rovaniemi on Thursday, oh boy thats cold!
