Quite a horrible day with plenty of rain, flooded roads and gusty winds here. The main rain band thankfully cleared at about 3pm, more heavy rain and showers expected.

So much rain last 24 hours. Roads are back to normal. Gower particularly bad flooding risk increasing again.

Miserable out there now, rain and quite windy, feeling really cold

Still no precipitation falling here. You can clearly see by the radar its struggling to make much progress because of that cold blocking air. It's gone milder here, that widespread frost cleared at about midday.

What a beautiful morning , plenty of frost and ice. Such a shame it will be replaced by rain , coming in later. Mid Wales and Midlands looking primed for a couple of hours of snow though
-
Almost unbroken sunshine today which felt really weird considering the southwest has had cloud, rain and snow all day. It certainly feels Cold in that wind too.

Nice cold dry and mostly sunny week coming up. Enjoy it while it lasts before the return of the Atlantic slop!

November 2005.. Towards the end of the month. Heavy snow showers lead to over 6 inches of snow that laid around the 25th in Swansea, with Bitterly Cold northwesterly winds.
November 2010.. Dry, with deep cold, sunny days and widespread hard frosts.

More pulses of heavy rain continue move north-east across Wales this morning, a pattern we have seen for several days now. Even my otherwise totally disinterested better-half has commented on the growing intensity of the showers moving in off the Atlantic, asking me why our rain is suddenly so tropical in nature! I’m afraid I couldn’t give a very convincing answer, but I guess it’s an increasing ability of the atmosphere to hold more water vapour as the climate gradually warms, also causing more and more turbulence. Can anyone give me a more scientific answer to this question? Or are we simply experiencing a relatively wet Autumn which is not actually very unusual?
Cold air aloft...warmer sea temperatures creating the heavier showers? Just a guess

Luckily we have escaped most of the persistent rain here. That doesn't mean it's been dry though, heavy rain showers since midday, and the ground is very saturated

Been a non event here really. A torrential burst of rain earlier gave way to some strong winds that have continued, gusting around 40-50mph at times but nothing out of the ordinary
