Difficult to know what to do right now.
Not sure whether to stay up tonight in case something shows up or take most of my chances tomorrow but risk most of the lightning activity being confined to the south and southeast.
I don't see any point for me personally staying up for this as I worry that the lightning is just going to hang about the channel to the south of England and not be able to make it's way up here before the night is finished.
It might die out before hitting the southwest but at the moment, quite a lightning storm out at sea looking at the lightning detectors.

It doesn't feel remotely thundery here just moderate rain looks like it will last all night. Humidity is near 100% so I think alot of rain is coming next 48 hours

Huge cloudy mess today, light showers. Think it will dry up later. Tommorow we could see some heavier showers hopefully a rumble of thunder to send summer away for another year. Its been a poor summer overall for warmth and thunderstorms.

Hoping we see a thunderstorm tonight in Exeter, it seems to heading in this direction on the netweather radar, maybe midnight? I was sitting out in the garden with my friend late evening and could see distant flashes on the sky, I was surprised to see them from a storm over 100 miles away, can’t see any flashes at the moment.
Hoping for torrential rain and lightening tonight
Yep i could see lightning the other night from those cells that popped up over pembrokeshire, over 75 miles away.
