  1. looking pretty dark to the east of us - snow flakes blowing in the wind
  2. Keep you posted if we get anything of significance, probably be coming your way - what depth of snow do you have? driving back from work last night didn't seem as bad further inland towards Fambridge way!
  3. TEMP: -0.3C DEW POINT: -2.2c wind freshening from the NE, Snow cover 2 1/2 inches - what can we expect later on any great depths?
  4. Got a covering of about 2 1/2 inches or so on the Essex Coast with about an inch addition overnight, what sort of ppn can we expect later in the SE, I heard mainly light stuff but heavier down in our region?
  5. I reckon we should get that snow in Clacton in another 20/30 minutes - the 'blob' is quite large unless 'the shield' goes up again - wouldn't it be nice to have a huge shower develop the size of Kent moving SSW OVER THE WHOLE REGION!
  6. don't think the weekend will be anything like that - that was SEVERE! incredible drifting, the snow didn't fully melt until well into March!
  7. Cheers for that TWS - I'd say maybe a slow breakdown (like other have said) from the South west is still the best bet with maybe 2 attampts from the atlantic but maybe not before some major snowfall in central and at first South western areas. I also fancy it's not going to bringing in mild south westerlies either but just less cold conditions possibly with a linking azores HP to Scandy HP thereafter as the models were predicting this morning.
  8. anybody got the latest radar pic of how we stand at this moment? might jack it in and go you get any amounts out of that shower that passed through?
  9. How can that be? we've had nothing! - must me very localised and be over in a blink of an eye.
  10. Would I be right in assuming that if the southern arm of the jet strengthens and further LP's run towards Iberia (as per the posted Fax chart) this cold spell could go on? - as somebody else mentioned it could take another attemp at least from the Atlantic to break the HP and who knows even further snowfall. In assessment would you say that the chances of the cold spell continuing have increased/DECREASED since this morning?
  11. should be something knocking on my door shortly going by the radar - will be fairly short lived if I do get anything.
  12. Well Mr McElwee on the BBC forecast at 10:35pm said the snow on Saturday evening and into Sunday would be largely for a specific region he not only said coastal Suffolk/Essex but through into Kent/Sussex's and SE London and the Graphics showed this as well, so this appears to show a streamer but as we all know for that to set up in this area the wind will HAVE to be near NE or just east of north but no mention of rain/sleet on coasts although temps would be around 1-2c.
  13. right I'm coming back in half hour or so and I expect that streamer to be somewhat further to the west!
  14. I should stand a chance on the SE Essex coast steve if the wind turns more into the east (a bit vague I know)- is it still marginal temps wise for the coastal regions as we lose the colder uppers?
  15. that's his ploy to get into your house! I reckon he's homeless
  16. wot the!! - how much did you have before today? shows you what happens if you get lucky!
  17. Thought I saw a small cluster of showers starting to develop off the coast nearer to Clacton on that last radar pic. - like to get a streamer going down the Essex coast? if that's possible (to the big bearded man in the sky).
  18. ggrrrr!!! winds just west of north here, had about 1cm around 4pm but thats all - this is very annoying but obviously heaven for a fine band of people in Kent! I thought the winds were meant to be NE today? anyway looks like there is a streamer to the north closer to the coast, maybe more luck??
  19. YES we're officially in the south east! that means snow for us at the weekend and none for North Essex (their East Anglia)
  20. Just had a look on weatheronlines weather type for Sunday and Monday and graphics showed nothing about rain/sleet on the coasts apart from Norfolk coast - not sure quite how accurate these graphics are as I thought they were not expecting ppn that far north in East Anglia? Temps in the SE region for that timescale showing 0-1C, not sure about dewpoints.
  21. Got up to 0.2c max today in Burnham, now going down - dewpoint: -1.2c - is it still going to be marginal temps wise here for the ppn at the weekend anybody??
