  1. Seems to have been a nice covering of snow over the Flash/ Buxton/ Cat & Fiddle....check out the webcams at bottom of page http://www.buxtonweather.fsnet.co.uk/
  2. Yipee, 1st snow of the season falling here. Started off as heavy rain though, now snowing moderately, ground turned white. Temp is 1.3oC. Nice pics people ;o) Do we win prize for 1st snow in populated regions now? hehe
  3. Grey, blustery, very heavy showers merging into longer periods of rain. Currently 11.2oC at lunchtime......the BBQ summer continues in the NW of England haha :o
  4. Rather cloudy/ overcast here. Had some light rain overnight but now cleared
  5. Really enjoyed the 1st forecast, great to see Michael Fish back with us, especially on Netweather, which is by far the best weather site around!! Keep up the good work
  6. Great pics there........where was that phone box pic taken?, it looks seriously snowy there
  7. Few snow flurries here today, flakes did get quite fat at one point, and looked like we were going to see a more prolonged period of snow, but the heavy stuff was further east from here. Its been cold all day, not above 1oC. Roll on the next cold spell
  8. Nice pics, glad you got some snow, and an easy day at college too!!
  9. Had a light snow shower just before midnight, has stuck on the roads, maybe a few more showers sinking south overnight according to my local forecast, but not much evident on radar so far! Temp 0.8oC and very misty at present
  10. Had an extra 2cm cover last night from the northern edge of the storm, which just about brushed this area last night, the heavier stuff was much further south over the midlands & SE Wales. Not to complain though, its been snow bound here now for over a week, which in modern times is unheard of!! Took some pics this am, just back from a walk
  11. Snow falling here at the moment, sticking too. Seem to be on the northern edge of the storm, so not sure how much further north it will travel, temp 0.1oC, and pretty windy
  12. Snowing here now, sticking too, temp 0.1oC, pretty windy. Can't see it being anything to significant, the heavier precipitation looks much further south & can't see that making its way up here EDIT......its heavier than I imagined it would be going off the met office radar, but lets wait and see
  13. I agree, I think elevation will be a factor in this snow event. Personally I think places like the Staffordshire Moorlands could get a decent covering, up into Buxton. Maybe some snow here, but lighter than the favoured spots further south, only time will tell, its all a guessing game at the moment
  14. Had 4cm of fresh snow from the system that started off as snizzle at 16:00, but then got progressively heavier & ended around about 21:00. Don't know what to expect tonight........does anybody think the storm coming up from the south will make it anywhere near our region? it seems that its touch & go, and also finely balanced between rain & snow down south where it is expected........time will tell, but I got no high hopes
  15. Snow getting a bit heavier now, temp 0.4oC. Not quite heavy enough to scrap going into work this evening though, unless it changes dramatically before 21:00
  16. Snowing here since 16:00, it was pathetic to start with but now heavier, only about 1cm at present, filling in gaps of existing snow cover, but could be a couple of cm of fresh snow by time it stops, not expecting anything to major from this. temp 0.1oC
  17. Snowing here since about 16:00, very light at first, but now heavier, could be a few cm by time it stops. temp 0.1oC
  18. Well, just done a night shift, looks promising for later. Hopefully, when I wake up, it will be nice & snowy!
  19. Oh love the sunset ones, Its my fave part of the day after a snow event, when the skies are clear and you get a beautiful red sky. Was similar here yesterday, sub zero, no wind, beautiful sunset, and loads of smokey chimneys......looked just how a Febuary night should do
  20. Oh where can you get a pair of those, do you think i'll have much joy in Selfridges? lmao
  21. Had a few more cm's of snow here, but life is going on as normal, im glad to say. Main problem is drifting because its really gusty up on the tops. Temp is bang on 0oC at present
  22. I need some proper footwear for next year, shoes with tennis rackets on the soles, as one farmer told me when I was wading through em! lmao
  23. Ive shifted that much snow today, Ive got blisters on my hands, so in a way I don't mind if it misses us, I dont want to be back to square one again!!!
  24. Nice pictures there, glad you got some snow, and maybe you might see some more in the next few days *fingers crossed*
