  1. Im a tad jealous of all that heavy stuff near the East coast......would love to be in Heartbeat land right now
  2. Thanks for that, still looks like a lot of snow to come You forgot the Met office & Eno to name but 2!
  3. Oh well at the sake of sounding selfish, I start my second week of annual leave tomorrow, so let it snow all week!! But yeah, it would be nice for those of you that have to work not being able to go in!
  4. I live in Scouthead, and the main roads appear clear, but the lanes near my house are snowbound
  5. Seen the gritter about 3 times, I think Oldham Council are on it like a gritter bonnet!! The minor roads are quite hazardous though, should be fun tomorrow morning
  6. Use the free raintoday one, thats all I use and you can zoom in really well to your local area ;o)
  7. Surprised how far west the band of snow is travelling, we just need some of that darker stuff hovering to the East of Sheffield to make inroads
  8. Probably had an inch of fresh snow so far & still coming down nicely, being blown about in the wind....should be decent if it carries on overnight
  9. Has been coming down steadily for past 2 hours, Council seems well prepared, have seen the gritters a good few times, so roads should be clear come tomorrow
  10. I'm hoping that snow gets blown over the Pennines, its not uncommon, Ive known it to happen in the past. That snow band is making painfully slow progress though. Whats gonna happen at the end of the week? Metcheck were saying another Atlantic system was gonna move in and create "the mother of all breakdowns" I truely hope so!!! Snow been very dissapointing here over this cold spell
  11. Well this snizzle is rubbish, but hey ho, its still "all white on the night" Until the next Amber warning.....its over & out!!
  12. You can tell this snow has come via Wales, the tight fisted ***********
  13. And at 3pm, we have lift off with a temp of -2.4oC!! Nothing too heavy but its a start for now!!
  14. Well its reading -2oC here, never say never, but equally don't trust a hope......it has forsaken these hills!
  15. Nope, I was meaning I've just watched a reporter from down South saying its started to snow heavily (in a mere snizzle shower) and I was thinking get a grip woman! Theres nothing here too & the shelves in Tesco are still full im pleased to say
  16. Sorry but some of these TV presenters should be stand up comedians...."it's started to snow really heavily here now"
  17. This pretty much sums it up......even the "experts" can't call it!! http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1598498_snow-idea-met-office-forecasters-change-mind-for-third-time-and-reinstate-amber-snow-alert
  18. Every dog has its day......so they say!! lol. Im not that downbeat coz still a good few cm covering in place since Monday, it would have been worse if we were completely snowless
  19. Nothing here, just frustration........had a snizzle shower about 11am but thats it. Temp is -1.9oC. The one time Odham council is prepared, this happens, typical!!
  20. This website is enough to give you a heart attack.......amber warnings, yellow warnings, no warnings, downgrades, upgrades.........we have a couple of cm of lying snow here which has been there since Monday, then we have had the light snow this pm which has covered all the gaps/ roads in. I think if we get any snow in this area tomorrow, it wont be until late afternoon/ into Saturday. Enjoy whatever you have & stay safe
  21. I see the Welsh have heeded the advice to be prepared - the news showed the local Tesco stripped of all bread & milk etc....... at least our downgrade has spared us such scenes!
