  1. I also only get the white screen! Made me laugh when it said this was a one hour trial, If you like what you see sign up. no thanks. Now I can't even see what will arrive or when.
  2. Oh dear, that is what I expect will happen here. Temp had dropped in the last hour down to 2.6 and I was hoping it would go lower but it seems stuck there now. Not cold enough for snow so I will just watch to see who gets what, where. Hi Polar Bear, been out of things a bit, nice to 'see' you.
  3. Yep it's fun here at the moment. Going to give in now and try to get some sleep. har har!
  4. Hi gotto, not me. Now back up to gusting to Force 11 on Chimet and Force 9 sustained/ And high tide is injust over an hour so some overtopping I should think some overtopping of seawater. Fortunately not the largest tides at the moment.
  5. Hope he isn't going via Whiteways roundabout at the top of Bury Hill as the road is blocked there by a fallen tree. I suppose he could go via Amberly but then he is just as likely to find a fallen tree that way.
  6. Oh dear, I don't have that radar, where roughly is this area at the moment? Cheif Wiggam, what page are you looking at on Chimet? I am puzzled as the Chimet I am looking at is showing the pressure has dropped now to 990 and I can't see any rise. The winds do seem to be easing a bit but I think it is due to the wind changing direction slightly and becoming more sheltered by the IOW. Here in Bognor it still sounds just as gusty. Also the gusts are still up to Force 10

  8. Sustained winds now 51mph and maximum gust now 67.4mph so still no sign of any end to this storm.
  9. Picking up windspeed all the time here. Now Force 9 gusting Force 11. Pressure still dropping. 992 currently and still raining steadily with lots more to come when I look at the rainfall radar. Thankfully that dustbin is now wedged under the back of someones car. Well at least it wont keep me awake although the wind is still likely to. Roof tiles now rattling.
  10. Grins, so frustrating, why on earth do they shut it down? Surely it could go on recording. Odd. Here the gusts seem to be getting stronger and more frequent, pressure now down to 993 so still dropping off pretty rapidly. A few more hours of fun for me I reckon before we pass the peak. Hope so anyway as we are still only at F8 sustained winds with a max of 41 mph sustained wind and a highest gust of 62 mph. I want more!!!
  11. Sorry Jane Louise if it was off topic but it was actually a local weather recording site not a weather station. so I thought it was on topic. Apologies if otherwise.
  12. This any help to you? It seems to be around half an hour behind though. http://www.woolrych.org/weather/
  13. Oh, that dustbin, a metal one, just started moving again and crunched into the neighbours car, think he wont be too happy tomorrow morning. Pressure dropping more quickly, 995 now. Now gusting Force 10
  14. Getting really gusty now, max gust 62mph, I wish I could record the sounds and put it on here. LOL Looks like being a long night of storm watching for me. Just loving it. Or maybe not, just looked out the window to check the garden fence and got a faceful of water from a leaky gutter! Oops wondered what the funny noise was, someone dustbin just gone rolling down the road spewing it's contents as it goes. LOL Or maybe not lol, I may be picking their rubbish out my front garden tomorrow.
  15. Our latest wind is a maximum gust of 55mph, nothing too hairy yet, I am sad to say I am hoping for more. Sustained wind is fairly steady with a max of 41 mph. pressure in now dropping slowly to 997mb currently. This is supposed to peak in my area around midnight so another 3 hours at least of watching for me. Lucky I don't have to be up too early tomorrow.
  16. Same here, the rain has just been flirting with Bognor for hours now and is only just begining as light rain. the winds however have been stronger than forecast.
  17. Oh! I hope mine doesn't go out as my laptop battery is not in good condition. Should it really be removed from the laptop if I am using mains power?
  18. Phill, you are quite correct about the difference even 4 miles inlnad compared to the coast. I am half a mile from the seafront but even that makes quite a difference to the force of the wind. Right on the front is pretty gusty just now.
  19. That sounds a bit daft to me as on their gale warning page they have Force 8 gale to Storm 10 for Plymouth. Always go with the shipping forecast so much more reliable, it has to be when peoples live are involved. Edit, Kent Snow said "The Wind over the past hour has picked up. Few spots of rain in the air. Lots to come from looking at the radar!" definitely plenty to come and it is currently progged for the south Kent coast to get the highest winds, so keep safe.
  20. Nice to hear from further west of here as I can get a feel for what is to come. A bit concerned about the Torro warning as around the I.O.W and East of the IOW is a high tornado risk area because of the way the winds come around the island. This does seem to be the sort of very gusty weather that spawns tornados. I can already hear a light of lighter things blowing around and my eucalyptus tree is bending well.
  21. Latest gust on Chimet, (Chichester harbour entrance) 53.6 mph sustained wind 43 mph and 1000 mb pressure,
  22. Haha, Urban slang has an answer. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=boyd&defid=3852514 Actually knightrider obviously meant a bouy seeing he is talking about them being out at sea.
  23. Hi Chief Wiggam, Chimet now gone up to F8 gusting F9 so this is moving in pretty quickly as your post was just 8 minutes ago. Edit, Ah you beat me to it while I was writing. I am a bit on the slower side these days but will always love a storm. Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow!
  24. 'Coast' said "I hope not, all my Christmas booze is in the garage!" Where exactly in Eastbourne are you Coast? And which number? Already starting to get very gusty here about half a mile from the sea at Bognor. Force 10 forcast for here but I reckon Eastbourne and east of there could get the worst of this. What time is high tide I wonder? OH DEAR 00:23am high here, just as the wind is peaking and around 6 hours for the swell to build! No wonder they have the storm surge barriers up on the slipways on the prom. I will be down there in the morning to see if any of the fishermen lost their tackle to the sea this time.
