HEY!!!! Why you leave out Sussex you 'orrible Mr French President!!!

Walked the dog at 10am in light rain, halfway through walk it turned to 'lumpy rain' sleet then 10 minutes later it was all snow. Now snowing steadily with large chunks but not really heavy. Not settling and don't suppose it will later either at the coast here. Nice to see some more snow falling though. Very unexpected as I have been too busy to follow trends.

Amazed to wake this morning and find a covering of snow everywhere here. Very unexpected as I thought looking at forecasts that we had seen the last of the snow for this area. Especially as the heavy rain had melted everything except the snowmen. Still I am not expecting this covering to last long once the temperatures rise a bit. Currently 1.3C here.

Absolutely chucking it down here now.......... only one snag, it's RAIN.

Hi Danball, mine is on a sheltered wooden shed wall so perhaps mine is too high! Still half a degree not much either way. I am on the very edge of town, Felpham way so have really enjoyed the laying snow from Friday!

How odd, temp still slowly dropping but turned back to sleet with more rain than snow. Sooo sad! Sniff.

High where are you in Bognor? I am half a mile from the sea and it is still 1.5C here but I did notice this morning that it is noticeably colder on the outskirts of the town.

Yep heard of Whitely, they have a rather nice forest there. See the signs when I drive on the M27. So annoying that we had that heavy rain first on the coast as it is snowing steadily now and the temp still dropping. Not enough to settle though.

Perhaps it is a frenchmans armpits. They were just saying on the local news that the smell is coming from Northern Frances where they are producing the smell that is put into natural gas! Phew! Why do they always put these places along the Channel coast! Along with a lot of their nuclear reactors? Maybe because the prevailing wind down here is South-westerly so the English get their pollution? Anyway back to less controversial matters and the reason I logged in is the weather. I walked the dog at 3:30pm and it was 3C and heavy and very cold rain. Now less than an hour later it is snow and the tamp has dropped to 1.8 Too wet on the ground for it to settle now apart from the few places where the snow remains.

Great news for Cornwall, now I can go to bed at last!! Enjoy your snow tomorrow! Also hope it reaches all in Devon who missed out on Friday.

If it isn't then it has to be the slowest moving I have ever seen!! I am giving up now and off to bed. Hope those poor folk in Cornwall DO get some snow from this. I will leave it for them to stay up though.

GRIN. And it isn't even for me. I really am a worse snow addict than I thought. I always said when I don't want snow I will be old. Only 63 so pleanty of years yet. LOL

Just looked at radar. If you stand on the cliffs at Lands End and put out your hand I reckon you could just touch it now. Not going to bed until I know what you get.

Do you have some sort of force field in Cornwall? That precipitation has been flirting with the coast for ages now. I am getting somewhat frustrated with it, never mind you folk that are waiting for some snow down there.

Oh I sympathise. We had 4 weeks with only partial heating when the temp was 8C and felt sooo cold. Hope it is soon sorted.

It HAS to fall as snow. I am a long, long way from Cornwall but I would be soooo annoyed if it didn't snow from this lot!

If the temps stay that low as this precipitation comes in it looks good for snow for you and others in Cornwall and I really am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Mind you, I have experienced freezing rain here before now so below freezing temperatures don't on their own mean snow. You should know soon anyway as it is steadily moving in for you. Here's hoping.

Very many thanks to the people who answered my question about the higher temp and snow. Sun now shining weakly but still snowing lightly and temp has now dropped back to 1.8C The area of precipitation is slowly creeping back eastward on the coast here so I think soon the snow will stop for me. Been an enjoyable morning.

So very strange now. Temperature 2.4C and the drip, drip of a very slow thaw BUT it is still snowing and slightly heavier than before. Never had snow when it was this warm before. How does it happen? Upper air colder than down here?

Still snowing lightly here but temp 1.4C and sky looking very light. I think it will soon be over for us and then the thaw will likely set in. If we can just make it until 3:00pm with no further temp rise we may still have some snow cover tomorrow. Very, very marginal for me now. Now I need to do some work. UGH!
