  1. Hi Guys, long time no see :)

I have to do a bit of planning for the weekend so any pointers would be handy.

I plan to drive down from Nottingham to Wokingham Saturday evening - should I bring a flask of soup & a shovel eh? just in case the front does indeed stall....

Then my plans are to drive back up early Monday morning - a wise move? or should I make contingency plans to delay my trip back till Tuesday??

I know there is still alot of uncertainty, but any tips will be welcome.

  2. 2 storms here as well so far

1st at approx 2.30pm Plenty of thunder, IC lightning. Torrential rain. Lasted approx 30 mins

2nd been going off for half hour or so. Constant deep rumbles of thunder, a few CG & IC strikes seen. Still carrying on as I type - still feeling rather humid and skies to my south are black.

  3. Well this event has turned in to a big disappointment for the north west, just a damp squib without so much as a rumble.

Well mate it could have been worse..

You could have been in Nottingham yesterday until a couple of hours before their storms, and had to drive back up here - like I had to! Got a text not long after I'd got back here telling me about the fantastic thunder & lightning down there - Gutted!.... wallbash.gif

  4. Yes the ash looks more troublesome but you only need to worry if you're going across the pond. otherwise bar the odd Tourist or engineer nothing too see.

I posted a few weeks ago regarding my Boss who was due to fly out to Florida the day after the airports initially closed in April.

Well he managed to get out there a week later - not very happy but at least holiday wasn't cancelled.

He is due to fly back on Sunday.............................................................oh dear!......

Poor sod - the last time he went to Florida a few years back he was delayed a week due to a hurricane huh.gif
