  1. Wind has really picked up in the last hour, if that has anything to do with it.
  2. Can see the anvil of this baby! Though, as ever, not coming this way
  3. That Bucks storm is going to pass too far N for me. Some very pokey cells developing again down towards Hants/Sussex way!
  4. To be fair - it could have been a funnel - just that it is too distant to say for sure, one way or another. If from your vantage point you could see rotation, then it's a safe bet it was a funnel. But based purely on the pics, it's too hard to say.
  5. If the updraughts can be found, there'll be a lot of happy bunnies on here
  6. Pics pics pics, lol The strong sunshine is beaming down now - if it stays like this then at least we have a pleasant day out of it EDIT - How funny - MetO issue 'Be Prepared' warning for southern counties as it all seems to start dieing down...Basil Fawlty managing that computer per chance!
  7. Hmm...this in theory SHOULD therefore, with more influential SW breezes transferring east towards the SE corner, against the NWesterlies, intensify the conversion effect there...maybe...hopefully..lol
  8. Oh dear - there are new cells appearing in quite a few locations but all appear either weak at present, or significantly weakened over the last half hour.
  9. Hmm, nothing of note here. Under some pretty dark clouds from time to time, including now, but little seems to be coming of them. Good news though, is that there was another funnel cloud - that's 4/5 now in the space of 5 days...nice!! Ahem, you are in a better location than me - lol! I think the CZ has only really initiated across S Hants/Sussex atm - according to forecasts this is likely to extend into Kent a bit later - be patient sir ...me, I'm not looking to get anything again Am surprised though the showers in EA don't seem to have lived up to what was forecast - unless more can be expected later this afternoon into the evening.
  10. I'm hoping for you - because while I am in London, whatever you get I am likely to get hit by
  11. Nothing here Though what was funny - colleague opened the office door earlier, and this gust came through that made both here and another colleage yelp! lol - was quite funny! Quite surprised MetO haven't gone orange around the coast of Hants and W Sussex - not necessarily saying the conditions warrant it (as discussed many a time previously) but I'd have thought it would be in line with their current system.
  12. WOW - RAPID intensification over Hants! My theory of me seeing distant action to N and S while under boring skies is looking ever increasingly real!
  13. Cu looked to be towering brilliantly earlier! Not sure what's come of it though.
  14. That's looking better BUT, I still may be a bit too far west to see it! Having said this, there are an increasing number of dark bases around at the moment - convection is definitely underway!
  15. Some beefy looking Cu starting to develop around here too! I just have that gut feeling, as I said earlier, that there will be some potent downpours, possibly T'storms to my N and to my S, south of the North Downs, with a nice and dry Thames estuary and about 3 miles either side.
  16. Cheers TN9 for the link! According to VP's predictions, there should a decent amount of moisture at slightly higher levels as opposed to on the ground. At least there is some moisture around then The warmth from the sunshine, expected conversion zones and fairly strong winds above, could potentially help make any showers which may develop a bit more pokey.
  17. Where's our trusty VP with his local Skew-T analysis Two points - 1. Congratulations on getting published  2. We now know who to blame for this talk of MINI-tornadoes
  18. Feels more than that here, and I can't be far from you. Sadly I have no way of calculating it
  19. Conversion zone type thunderstorms don't necessarily require the best conditions - today while not the typical 'thundery feeling' day, is warmer and more humid feeling than yesterday, a lot more sunshine already with a conversion zone predicted to develop very close by. I am not overly hopeful I am in the best place, but you never know.
  20. Couple of cells now appearing towards the SW!
  21. Further cells already breaking out across E Wales heading towards Midlands.
  22. WOW - get your camera boy and get in your car - chase chase chase lol! Am surprised its kicked off this early - conversion must be really underway! Cheers for the vote of luck - however, I have a sneaky suspicion I may be out of luck again, as shock horror, I am wedged between two areas of predicted action (southern most SE and EA - could be another gutter I feel)
  23. Seems to be something up Lincolnshire way developing (shame the weather radar maps don't show county borders)
  24. Its reasonably bright here - some Cu floating about but some decent sunny spells in between. Feels a damn sight warmer than yesterday - bit more humid too. Does appear though to be a far stronger breeze aloft - clouds got some pretty decent speed on them.
  25. Not sure either way to be honest - I am drawn towards scud, though it's one of the more 'convincing' scuds I've seen.
